Decent place but really scared of going out of the hotel, even sometimes some crazy homeless people entered in the building and the staff had to take them out, I dont recommend this hotel if its your first time in vancouver cause it really leaves you a bad impression of the city. The pub there was good and cheap, just sometimes homeless and prostitutes were also there and made you feel uncomfortable.

I enjoyed the stay as I am very impressed by the honesty of the staffs: I left something valuable behind in the room in the checkout, the staffs recovered and kept it for me so I could get it back half day later. A big thumb-up for the professionalism of the staffs. The hotel may be old but that is fair with the low cost to stay and it is conveniently located in the downtown, close to science center and Stanley park.

Friends, I had a worst hated experience staying at this Patricia Budget Inn motel in Vancouver. I have booked for 2 nights. After moving to this motel, it smells nasty. I felt like drug consuming and prostitution place. Though I convinced myself to stay, few minutes later I realized that I cannot stay at this place and told the management upfront. But the management did not refund me the whole money I paid. I still cannot understand how management cannot refund though I pointed out the valid reasons why I cannot stay. Note: Don't get disguised by looking at Patricia Budget Inn motel website photos and videos. It's quite opposite at this place.

Nice hotel, booked for a night but don't walk out late in the evening, there are funny characters, drug addicts and prostitutes along the streets... Troublesome... Otherwise the hotel is ok

Absolutely horrifying. Worst experience of my entire life. We show up and already the neighborhood is feeling uncomfortable with obvious prostitution and homeless people surrounding the building. I was scared to even go from my car to the entrance of the hotel. My husband and I got in around 10:30pm and had traveled 3.5 hours straight from work so we were both hungry for dinner. Yet both of us were terrified to leave the room and walk even a short distance to any nearby restaurants due to the excessive activity around the hotel. I was told already that the hotel was priced at a lower budget because they don't throw in the normal "frills" such as a workout room or a pool and that the rooms were actually nice, just an older building so there weren't necessarily new things in the room.... Which is fine. We stayed in Leavenworth in a similarly described place as "older building" "not new things" or "frills" however the stay was quite pleasant with a clean room and overall great location and a great place to lay your head in between exploring the town. This place was the stark opposite of pleasant anything. They also don't throw in the "frills" of clean bedding, smells or proper disclosures of what you are actually getting. The only real accommodation was the fact that I had the option to put my feet up on the bed while I sat on the toilet. The room was tiny. Barely enough room for my husband and I to move around the room. I pulled back one corner of the comforter on the bed and came to find that there were no sheets on the bed, just a yellow foam mattress. Disgusting. We already knew at that point that this place was not a place we could sleep. Not to mention you could hear everything fro the hallway and rooms around you. I was told when I booked the room that the only price I would be paying was $92.34 for two nights. Come to find out once we get there that there is actually a deposit of $100 (it was refundable - supposedly, waiting for the pending charge to go away on my bank account currently) and that there was also a fee for parking of $6. We were also told that the parking space was a lot on the right on the hotel. We parked there - like we were told and received a parking ticket while we were in our room. The lady that "helped" us was not really helpful at all. Quite rude actually. You are left feeling awkward for asking normal questions. To her surprise we came down from our room after deciding we just could not stay here and that our car was a far better option for the night. We did not get a refund for the horrific experience we received but we did have the ability to cancel our second night reservations at no charge. (Again, waiting for the pending charge to go away). This was a horribly disgusting, completely terrifying experience that has pretty much ruined my first impression of Vancouver. Thankfully seeing the city during the day has started to change that outlook as it is really a beautiful city. However, I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this hotel to my worst enemy - I'm not one to wish death on people. Avoid this place - trust the reviews. I wish I had read them before I made the reservations.

This place is a death trap. I normally stay in hostels, so I'm used to a little dirt and grime but nothing compared to this place. The staff was rude, the room was not cleaned, there were cigarette stains on the walls. I didn't even enter the bathroom. I regret touching the bed but had to see for myself, and sure enough pulled back the sheets and blanket to find bloody bedbug stains and plastic covering on the sheets. Was unable to get a full refund as we had spent five minutes upstairs trying desperately to connect to the Wifi which didn't work, to find another hotel - got charged a full night for five minutes. Disappointing and disgusting. Don't waste your time here.

Great hotel! Its in a bit of sketchy area and is a bit of an old fashioned hotel, but the manager at the Front desk is very knowledgeable and can provide tons of fun things to do. It also has free WiFi and has an attached restaurant to the hotel. You also get a discount if you are staying in the hotel. I had an overall good time there. The rooms are tiny though, so be prepared to be in small space
