My name is Pat Allen, owner of Rock The Boat Marketing
, a Chicago-area consulting boutique specializing in digital marketing strategy for investment firms. #finserv is pretty broad but @#finam (financial services asset management) is just right.
My marketing and
communications experience includes several years in senior marketing
and communications positions with Chicago’s great investment management
companies (Claymore Securities, Calamos Investments, Morgan Stanley/Van
Kampen Investments and Scudder Funds/Kemper Funds) and several years in
senior editorial and publishing roles for retail banking’s leading
professional services organizations (BAI and the U.S. League of Savings
But it's my consulting from on the outside that I'm really loving!
Since 1996, when I led a wee team in the development of the
intermediary industry’s first Web site (Kemper.com), my passion has
been directed toward the speed-to-market communications advantage and
measurability of digital media.
In September 2009, I founded AdvisorTweets LLC, whose Web site AdvisorTweets.com aggregates the tweets of U.S.-based financial advisors.
AdvisorTweets was a 2009 Killer Startup and as of July 2011, the Twitter account was ranked by Sulia.com as a top 10 personal finance Twitter account. For two years the day-to-day management of AdvisorTweets kept Rock The Boat Marketing close to its clients' target audience as they found their voice on the social Web. I sold the site in July 2011, freeing me to move on to the next big thing for my clients.
The RTB POV: Financial services marketing doesn't have to be boring or slow or late to innovation or even...perfect first time out. Let's try something!
