THE TREND-SETTER IN INNOVATIVE REGIONAL AMERICAN CUISINE

Since 1984, Parkway Grill has specialized in a seasonal, market-driven approach to cooking that incorporates diverse influences and classic French technique. Demonstrating the ultimate commitment to fresh produce, the Parkway Grill planted its own organic vegetable and herb garden behind the restaurant. Tiki Salad, Brick-Oven Baked Cambozola Pear Flat Bread, and Whole Ginger Fried Catfish are long-time favorites. The design of the Parkway Grill is a study in casual sophistication, striking a perfect balance between elegance and rustic approachability. The brick walls are adorned with elegant paintings by Millard Sheets and mixologists prepare hand-crafted cocktails at the expansive bar, an original from 1920's Chicago. Parkway's award-winning wine cellar, comprised of upwards of three thousand bottles, includes a broad selection of wines served by the glass.

Went there for lunch on my birthday. The service was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fabulous! The Host overhead my husband and me commenting on how good an appetizer looked on the table next to ours, and shortly thereafter, the waiter came to our table with the appetizer; compliments of the host! When I went to the ladies room, he also gave my husband some lilies to give me for my birthday and a delicious cupcake wit candle. The short-ribs were excellent! I would recommend this place to anyone.

You have to watch them when you get your bill. Happy hour prices are only applied if you ask for them. The first drink at list price with the 2nd for $1 will not show up otherwise. They have nailed us twice on that before I caught it. BUT. the food is great, just very noisy if you want to have a conversation.

Very good, flavorful cuisine. The flatbread appetizers were superb, but the swordfish special was only so-so. The bee-pollin crusted halibut was a much better choice. Stick to the menu.

I was superbly impressed with the food here. American bistro food has some high expectations to live up to in my book but nothing I ate this place was bad! We started munching on bread before we got our starters. It was all tasting ordinary until BAM, I bit into this cheese-infused cracker thing, and it all just went uphill from there. So addicting. For starters we had the tuna tartare, lobster crepe, and oysters on the half shell. All AMAZING but if I had to choose a favorite, it was the crepe hands down. Drool worthy. For lunch, I had the steak sandwich with french fries. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned, just the way I like them. The steak was perfectly medium. Dessert was recommended to us by the waiter - the creme brulee. Although it was not your typical creme brulee, it was still delicious - much better than the OG if I do say so myself. I kept eating it despite being stuffed. Service was excellent and smooth. Ambiance was a bit on the older/businessmen side but hey, it is Pasadena.

She had the special which was a seabass. It was quite tasty with what I believe was wild rice. Shared a tiger shrimp corndog which was a hoot given the ambience. It was delicious. And the beef tenderloin with pasta and beech mushrooms pulled off a nice balance of flavors without the heavy cream feel usually associated with that dish. Service was gracious, helpful, and made the evening.

It's your birthday and he didnt send flowers? Parkway Grill is the cure. After a basket of assorted and delicious breads, a superbly prepared entry and a dessert that is sinfully sinful, you are presented with a bouquet of vanda orchids. Who wouldnt mind another year with this sort of thoughtful celebration?

food is great but the servers act like they're doing you a favor by waiting on you. can get very crowded on weekends. i guess people like being abused by the wait staff.
