Today happens to be a special day as I celebrate my blog's 6th anniversary, so thought of posting something unusual. It can be called a lost recipe as my MIL says she has not seen this getting cooked or tasted elsewhere. It's a heirloom recipe that my MIL learnt from her MIL and so on.
The preparation is called Halsinkayi Rassa or Jackfruit curry. It is made with minimal ingredients, is very spicy and has almost negligible oil.
Tastes best with hot rice topped with filtered groundnut oil. It's a step wise recipe.

How many of you love the fragrance of flowers from the mango tree, 'bour' as it's called in Hindi? I love the fragrance and it makes me look forward to the onset of summer and for me summer means raw mangoes and using them to make chutneys, pickles, brine, relishes and what not.
This chutney that I am sharing today is a recipe I learnt from my MIL. It is a very simple and delicious preparation and gets ready in half an hour. It's spicy and tangy and goes well with hot steamed rice drizzled with ghee or filtered oil or spread it on a slice of toasted bread and top up with veggies and make a club sandwich, choice is yours☺

Introduction
A mom of two kids and a home maker by choice. I love spending my time experimenting in the kitchen, teaching my kids and reading. I've always loved cooking but Food blogging  started only when, I stepped away from making my career in pharmaceutical industry to take care of my growing children. The attempts of trying, new, creative, innovative food which is nutritional too made me start the blog to share the food I make with every one.
Once I started I became more critical about the food, it's taste, authenticity and how it is captured. This helped me getting involved in food photography to present my food better and also review writing.
I aspire to become a recipe developer as that's what keeps me going. Trying new ingredients and playing around with them to create something new, unusual, makes me happy.
