For our ‪‎Throwback Thursday‬ we have a video from the late King and Queen of country music; Johnny Cash and June Carter. Here they are performing their duet 'Long-Legged Guitar Pickin' Man'.

It's obvious why these two are the most memorable couple in country music.

Is Bro Country dead? Like before most of us even learned what it is/was?

Billboard says it could be! Huh? Now there’s a definite maybe if there ever was one.

In a Billboard Bulletin piece, BY PHYLLIS STARK, we read, “When journalist Jody Rosen coined the term “bro country” in a New York magazine article two years ago in August, he likely had no idea the phrase would become either so pervasive, or so divisive. Rosen defined bro country as “music by and of the tatted, gym-toned, partyhearty young American white dude.” But it eventually took on a larger context that encompassed any country song sung by a young (or young-ish) male country singer that referenced a broad range of lifestyle pulse points that included trucks, partying, drinking, bonfires and girls in bikinis or jean shorts (or both), and often was heavily influenced by other genres, like rock and hip-hop.”

So now that it’s over, even we who don’t read New York Magazine finally know what “Bro Country was. Congratulations?
