The PanelWrights LLC crew is busy on a local job - a #Shepherdstown residence deep energy retrofit. Panels are cut to fit onsite and attached over the existing wall and/or roof sheathing, providing added insulation without disturbing the inside of the home. New cladding and underlayment is then installed over the retrofit insulated panels. The OSB facing serves as the fastening surface for siding or roofing. #deepenergyretrofit #nailbasepanels #energyefficient

Did you know that you can replace conventional rim board with an energy-efficient rim SIP on most projects? You have to consider foundation thickness to ensure proper bearing of floor joists, but that's usually not a problem. Most foundation walls are 8-10" thick, so a typical 4.5" rim SIP leaves plenty of space for floor joist bearing. This is a great way to eliminate air/heat loss in what is one of the most notoriously leaky parts of a structure. #structuralinsulatedpanels #energyefficient #rimboard #rimSIP #BuildingwithSIPs
