Newseum Event DC | DC Event Photographer

A gorgeous night at the Newseum in Washington DC. The view of the Capitol was spectacular and the festive linens, florals and moving snowflakes made the night magical.

Jenna + Ryan Wedding | Bull Run Golf Club Wedding

Jenna and Ryan were married at the gorgeous Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, VA. The day began as a beautiful afternoon with blue skies and puffy white clouds. Jenna and Ryan started getting ready and prepared for their first look. I love first looks. They are so personal and heartfelt. It is such a wonderful time for a couple to get to express their feelings to one another without the rush of the day snatching those thoughts and words from each other. It is almost as if time stops and gives them a few moments to soak everything in. And then the day starts whirling again and off they go to the many other events and people they want to share their special day with.

This day was like no other. It was time for the ceremony and the wind was whipping and storm clouds were approaching. Jenna and Ryan had the comfort of knowing all of their portraits were already done as they decided whether or not to have their ceremony outside. They chose to take the chance and I held my breath as each minute passed. The lush greens, tall trees and pond were a perfect backdrop for their intimate ceremony. I could see why they wanted to take the chance and have their ceremony outside. The bridesmaids dresses fluttered beautifully in the breeze and Jenna's veil blew behind her. We all celebrated as they said their I Do's and kissed. It wasn't until the guests started to head for the club that the first drop of rain was felt. We all were so excited to have experienced such a magical moment with them and were so thankful that on this day the weather was on our side. It was a beautiful day!

Woodend Sanctuary Wedding | Persian Wedding DC

Jewels sparkled in the sunlight as scents of lavender and fresh cut florals filled the air. Each item on the sofreh held meaning and was perfectly placed. I love the symbolism that many cultures bring into their weddings. It makes the day rich while revealing the importance of tradition, culture and ancestry. Kas and Shima had a beautiful wedding at Woodend Sanctuary surrounded by lush green woods, tall grasses and birds singing. Some of my favorite parts of their day were the delicate flowers on Shima’s gown, gorgeous bouquets, a stunning sofreh and the sweetness of family and friends that surrounded them.

Muslim Wedding DC | Islamic Center of Washington Wedding

The wind swept her red wedding gown off the ground and it fluttered in the air. It was a gorgeous summer day in DC for this Muslim Wedding. The architecture of the Islamic Center of Washington is incredible. The columns, detailed painting and mosaics made for beautiful backgrounds for Susan and Mohammad’s big day. I was honored to capture all the festivities for them. I especially loved Susan’s henna on her hands and her feet. What a fun couple and beautiful day!

Emma Newborn Portraits | NOVA Newborn Photographer

This sweet girl is absolutely gorgeous. I typically photograph newborns in the first 10 days of life, but due to some time in the NICU and some time for mommy and daddy to settle in, Emma was 77 days old on on her session day. Although we could not get the posed portraits on the blanket, we have countless adorable poses in lots of baskets and also in mommy and daddy’s arms. I also love the Santa hat. Emma is all ready for the holidays!

Kendall + Brandon Engaged | Meridian Hill Park, DC

Fall is upon us and this busy wedding season gets a little more crazy for photographers as the weather cools and everyone prepares for family portraits and fall weddings. I enjoyed a beautiful morning with Kendall and Brandon at Meridian Hill Park in Washington, DC. They live just blocks from the park and enjoy running through the grounds amongst the many other Washingtonians that call this place home. The two story cascading waterfall is a tranquil spot and the many benches and nooks and crannies around the park are filled with families, dog walkers, neighbors running, walking, playing and having a great time. The leaves are just starting to yellow and some have already fallen to the ground. The air is crisp and the love of these two, so sweet!

Kaitlyn + Cameron | Washington DC Temple

It was a glorious day at the Latter Day Saints DC Temple. The sun was shining and lots of happy couples were dashing out the doors happily married. I was honored to be chosen by Kaitlyn and Cameron to document their special day. The happy couple drove up to the Washington DC LDS Temple from North Carolina to say their I Do’s. In tow were their parents and dedicated bridal party. Everyone looked gorgeous with blush dresses on the girls and accents on the guys in their navy suits. Beautiful southern wedding charm was in abundance and I am very excited to share some of my favorite moments with you!

Ibolya + Matt | Piedmont Club Wedding

It was a cool spring day when Ibolya and Matt said I Do. Trees were just getting buds and the first of spring flowers had started to bloom. The Piedmont Club is beautiful year round, with expansive views, lush golfing greens and a pretty stone bridge. One of my favorite moments of the day was when Matt was giving his welcome speech. He was thanking everyone for coming and then came to say how much he loved Ibolya and what a fantastic job she did planning their wedding. The next words out of his mouth were quite humorous… that he wasn’t able to shower for a week! Ibolya had created all of the bouquets and flower arrangements herself so they had to keep their home at frigid temperatures and flowers were all over their bathroom. Everything looked gorgeous so I guess it was worth it! Take a look…

Joanna + Drew | National Museum for Women in the Arts

Joanna and Drew celebrated their gorgeous wedding day at The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. It was a whirlwind of events from the moment we started which always makes the day a lot of fun. Getting ready photographs were at their Alexandria home with several cute four legged friends, eagerly wanting to be a part of the celebration. Being history buffs, I enjoyed capturing wedding details among their Civil War memorabilia. Then off to a beautiful ceremony at Georgetown’s Dahlgren Chapel. The historic Chapel is gorgeous and the surrounding campus made for beautiful portraits among the fresco paintings, ornate chandeliers and gothic revival architecture. I personally love the sweet quiet moments and romantic settings of Healy Hall. And of course their family would not be complete without their favorite pooch, Rupert, making a grand appearance by limo in his bow tie and matching lead. He led the way for their bubble exit and graced many of the couple’s portraits. The evening was full of energy and everyone danced the night away. Some of the fun details included a candy bar, sweets station and a parting favor filled with treats made by the bride’s mother.

Joanna and Drew’s day was filled with beauty, fun moments and laughter. I would be remiss if I did not mention their amazing planner, A. Dominick Events. Their attention to detail, creativity, warmth and kindness to all guests and vendors was wonderful to be a part of. Their passion and knowledge of weddings made the day flow smoothly and for this busy day was wonderful to be under their direction. Now, on to the beautiful photographs of this wonderful couple!
