Thank you Mayumi for writing a blog post on my work and the upcoming North Shore Art Crawl.
I can see some Japanese influences in my paintings so this is perfect smile emoticon
Mayumi Kobayashi was an Art teacher in Japan, and worked as a pottery class instructor. She has been living in Vancouver since spring 2010 and is as an editor at Starts magazine.

Our new online class: Creative well being should be ready after spring break.
It is a collaboration between Art therapist Sophie Babeanu and me.
It got me to try new things, including making paper beads from color studies that represent emotions.

Most of the units will get you to make Art, paintings and drawings and collage but this unit also gets you to wear your Art. Exciting!

I would say that about 1 painting out of 4 or 5 I start never gets finished. This one started well but then I became very unsatisfied with the results. It is now in pieces in the recycling.
I feel better that way as I don't want to keep working on a painting I don't like anymore.

Do you sometimes get rid of one of your paintings? Is it a difficult thing for you yo do or is it more like a relief?

Sophie Babeanu and I are working hard to finish our creative well being class in the next couple of weeks. It is an exciting project that focuses on enjoying creative well being through self expression and artistic exploration of feelings.

Mark your calendars smile emoticon I will open my studio for the North Shore Art Crawl on Saturday & Sunday, March 5 & 6, 2016 10 am to 5 pm.
I have an exciting hands on activity as I will have all the supplies for you to try your hand at doodling on pebbles. I have lots and lots of them, they are heavy so I will be happy if you can make a bunch and take them home!

This is my activity listing on the brochure:

Zentangle Rocks! We will have fun drawing and doodling on pebbles to embellish them. Why not make a few of them and display them in a bowl. No drawing skills necessary, everybody can do it, I will provide all materials and simple patterns ideas. This activity is fun for kids as well.
