The Jungle Mamas program exists to halt preventable deaths throughout pregnancy and childbirth by supporting indigenous women to be active agents in building and strengthening their own community. A community of indigenous Maternal Health Promoters provide prenatal, live birth, and post-partum assistance to other indigenous women, and ensure safe births even in the deepest, most isolated communities in the Amazon. Your donation will help us keep this amazing program going!
Pachamama Alliance's Jungle Mamas program empowers indigenous communities in the Amazon to support families through pregnancy and childbirth.

"Original instructions are basically the guidebook for how to be on this Mother Earth, the principles for being here. Sometimes that’s very hard to navigate in this modern world. I understand that and I feel like this is the place for indigenous people and indigenous culture today. To keep bringing forward what we still hold from that guidebook about how to be on this Mother Earth." - Woman Stands Shining
I want to give people the opportunity to really feel and to be able to open as much as they are ready to, to that risk of transformation from being some kind of generic human and being able to listen to and see the reflection of themselves in this Mother Earth.

Last week, 90,000 gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico from a leaky undersea pipeline. It is time to truly move away from offshore drilling and #KeepItInTheGround for the sake of our oceans and wildlife.
An undersea pipeline 90 miles off the Louisiana coast leaked roughly 90,000 gallons of oil last week — and, over the weekend, dozens of activists around the country were arrested during anti-fossil fuel protests.

Guayusa is a plant used to make a tea-like beverage, found nearly exclusively in the Napo province of Ecuador, where the Amazon rainforest meets the Andes, that has a long standing tradition in indigenous culture. Now, small family farms are producing it to be sold internationally, making it a global commodity and a means of sustainable income for indigenous people in the Amazon region.
Indigenous communities in the Amazon are now exporting Guayusa, a plant that plays an important role in their day to day ceremonies.

After #Greenpeace reported connections between soy, meat, and Amazon deforestation in 2006, the Brazilian government’s response has lead to one of the most unprecedented collaborations against deforestation in our time.

There is no doubt that protecting Amazon Rainforest is crucial for the health of the entire planet. Sadly, as Canadians have learned in the past ten years, no moratorium or agreement is safe when hardcore, corrupted, right wing criminals regain the power, be it through the minority (39%) of votes as it happened in Canada, or fake "impeachment", as it just happened in Brazil. As of today there is a "new" brazilian president, and soon to be a new, right wing government. Bye, bye, Amazonian Rainforest. Greed, and craving for power have spoken loud and clear once again.
