This is pathetic!! Teenagers are being prosecuted - and having their lives destroyed - for doing what teenaged have been doing since the invention of the species!!

The best part is that they can have sex... the 'age of consent' is 16... but taking pictures of themselves makes them sex offenders?!!?!

"Later this month, a North Carolina high school student will appear in a state court and face five child pornography-related charges for engaging in consensual sexting with his girlfriend.
What’s strange is that of the five charges he faces, four of them are for taking and possessing nude photos of himself on his own phone"
NC defense lawyer: "I’m deeply troubled by the fact that this case was even charged."

Anyone else feel that this is a cause for concern?

Microsoft to slip user-tracking tools into Windows 7, 8

Worried about Windows 10's deep-reaching user tracking? Some of it's coming to Windows 7 and 8, too:

This is an amazing precedent that been recently set.
I don't recall ever hearing about an individual being charged/convicted for writing a piece of software! (If anyone else does, please let me know)
The act of creating the software alone is a crime in and of itself - regardless of whether the software has ever actually been used. It'll be interesting to find out whether the fact that it was offered for sale was what made the development "criminal" - or would he have been charged had he simply posted it online for free, or what is he only have copies to a few friends? When does creating malware actually become a criminal offense?

A Carnegie Mellon University student faces up to ten years in prison for creating Android malware that allowed users to take control of other people's devices.

Reads like a page from a +Daniel Suarez thriller!!
Police using armed drones as part of that standard equipment arsenal. There have been more than enough material in the news to provide research for a sequel to "Kill Decision"!
"I hear a lot of ideas about drones, and this is one of the worst."

Google beat Apply to the mobile payment space... All you need to make payments is an NFC equipped phone running Kit Kat or later.

Are we perhaps taking things a bit too far??
For all you folks who went to school back when there were only him and her – here’s a primer.

With the rising popularity of drones, we can be sure that this won't be the last time we see something like this.
This can only end in the gov't regulating (maybe licensing) the use of drones.
NEW YORK (AP) — A drone buzzed over the court during a U.S. Open match in Louis Armstrong Stadium on Thursday night and crashed into an empty section of seats.

Netflix's 4K 'Breaking Bad' Stream Hacked - Now Being Torrented.
Giving pirates a preview of what will doubtlessly be commonplace VERY soon - 17gb file for a single episode!
This is a great time to be a manufacturer of high capacity hard drives.
Is Hollywood's 4K content protection system already in tatters?

This story just keeps getting better... Not only is Ashley Madison despicable in concept, it appears that they were even defrauding the jerks that were cheating on their wives!!
Husbands paid extra money to exchange email with "women" also looking for affairs. Problem was... the site had approx 25000 female members and 5.5 million fake 'automated' accounts. These guys were cheating on their wives with a piece of software! Idiots!!!

Strangely, I'm not feeling a lot of sympathy!!
Now we know that almost none of the woman in the Ashley Madison database ever used the site. The question is, was this a deliberate fraud? Or was it just a dating site gone wrong?
