I've lived here for 22 months and just had a negative experience with Stacey at 276 1st Ave Resident Services. I know that people use Yelp to complain, whereas they are much less likely to leave a positive review when things are going well but... I think my experience highlights how much Management values their tenants. The access card is printed on a thin piece of plastic. After 20 months, it became bent and it was taking a long time for the RFID transponder to read the card (I'd have to move the card for the transponder to pick up the signal). I went to Resident Services, asking for a replacement. I asked them to waive the $8 fee for a new card because I've been a good tenant, I didn't lose the card and the card is very thin. They refused. Stacey gave me an attitude too. When I asked if they could waive the fee she said, "Would you like a new card?" I said, "Yes." She said, "It's $8." But, oh well. I'm now $8 poorer. lol. Bad experience. We all know that the service industry sucks. Real estate leasing is binary in nature. If someone rents, substantial money is generated. If the apartment is vacant, nothing is generated. When a good tenant is worth tens of thousands to a landlord, why would they sour a relationship with poor customer service and for $8? It's not worth it. But it seems that's how Stuy Town & Peter Cooper Village conducts their business.

Lie and hypocrisy is a logo of this place. When you rent an apartment they don't show you the actual apartment, they show you "demo" apartments freshly renovated on a high floor, but you can't see the place you are renting prior to signing a lease. If you have a problem and call them, they will forward you to a person who never answers a phone, but you are more then welcome to leave a voice message; sure enough you'll never get a call back. One more: they kick out old tenants and renovate their old apartments, so be prepared hearing jackhammer throughout the day. You won't have running water frequently due to the same reason.

We moved her in January and love it. Clean, safe...grass and trees! But still right in the city. Great resident service -- If there's an issue or I have a question I seem to always be able to get someone on the phone, and if I have to leave a VM the call is returned quickly. They email you all the time if there are changes or anything going on in the neighborhood that residents need to be aware of.

So far I have had a fantastic experience in StuyTown. The leasing office was extremely helpful, and informative. The apartment itself is phenomenal, and is by far the best bang for your buck. I also initially did not appreciate how nice and quiet the community is, and how many amenities there are. Maintenance and Rent is easy to handle online. My one recommendation would be to upgrade the entryways of the building and the halls, only have the elevators padded for people's specific moving days and make an effort to enhance the mixture of smells in the building.

Excellent customer service with maintenance, security, billing, PR, etc. If I have a maintenance emergency I usually get excellent same day service. Wonderful community.

Good value for money in pleasant surroundings - near to subway, bus routes and major shops.

The grounds are beautiful. Location is great. The apartments are spacious and the best in the area for your money. It's a nice place to live if you're looking for a quieter place to live in the east village area. It feels like you're out of the city when you're home. I lived there this past year and have decided to renew my lease for the coming 2015-16 year.
