This month, in what has become our cherished holiday tradition, PBI’s Vancouver and Montreal offices raised funds to provide Christmas aid to local families.
The Vancouver office managed to raise enough to sponsor two families of four children through Adopt-a-Family Holiday Programs. The funds were raised mainly through on-donation breakfasts and lunches prepared by volunteering associates. Some associates also offered direct donations in cash or in gifts and additional funds were donated in the name of PBI. The $1,800 raised were used to purchase groceries for the families’ holiday meals as well as gifts for the children and mothers. Darin, Marge, Michelle and Megumi delivered the holiday hampers and were thanked in priceless smiles and sweet Christmas cards.
The Montreal office also raised enough funds to provide Christmas hampers for two families. The funds were raised by holding a small “convenience store” in the office re-selling snacks and drinks that were purchased in bulk. Montreal raised a total of $1,675 and some associates also offered in-kind donations. The team used the funds to purchase groceries and gifts based on the family's wish list and delivered them before Christmas eve.
The Montreal families were sponsored through the Adopt-a-Family program managed by the Fondation du Dr Julien at Hochelaga Maisonneuve (Montreal). Please find more information about this organisation here:www.fondationdrjulien.org
The Vancouver office sponsored a family through each of the two Adopt-a-Family programs in Vancouver.
