Are you planning on making a New Year's resolution (or two)?

I usually don't make them, but this year, I decided to resolve to lose a set amount of weight by December 31, 2014.

However, it isn't as simple as saying I am going to lose weight. For my resolution (or anyone's resolution) to work, it has to be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-specific.

I've set a very specific goal with checkpoints along the way. I've even specified changes that I will make if I don't meet a quarterly goal.

For more information, read my post on writing good New Year's resolutions that you can keep!
