Many questions from worried teenagers regarding rumours of the minimum driving age going up to 18 in the UK. Under the proposals young people would still be allowed to learn to drive when they turn 17. But they would have to turn 18 before they could take their test, and would also have to log 120 hours of supervised practice, including 20 hours at night.

By law, every new car reaching its third birthday has to begin taking an annual safety test or 'MOT'. If your car doesn’t have a valid MOT certificate you’re not allowed to drive it on the road. Unless, that is, you’re on the way to, or from, a pre-booked MOT test at an authorised garage.

If you receive a speeding fine or 'notice of intended prosecution for a speeding offence'...
UK speeding fines vary according to the seriousness of the alleged offence. The minimum penalty is a £100 fine, and you also get 3 penalty points on your driving licence. Penalties at this lower level are often issued automatically, and you could also be offered the chance to take a speed awareness course instead. This will cost a similar amount but if you complete it you'll avoid getting points on your driving licence.
