The families living in Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan are just a few of the 60 million people desperately trying to escape conflict, disaster and poverty worldwide. Ordinary people who have been forced to leave their lives behind by circumstances beyond their control. See people, not refugees – SHARE this to remind world leaders at the World Humanitarian Summit that we #standasone

In South Sudan 1.5 million people, like Stima Rose and her baby Moses, have been forced to flee their homes. We are providing clean water, hygiene facilities to prevent the spread of disease, food, fuel and income support.

Barbara wanted to be a teacher. Instead she spends hours every day walking to collect water. If everyone paid their fair share of tax people like Barbara could have a better future.

Meet Marie. She’s a widow who lives in Haiti with her two teenage children. Thanks to your support and DFID matching your donations pound for pound, we have been able to train Marie on how to build earthquake resistant buildings. So the next time disaster strikes her community will be better prepared.

When it comes to tax havens, it looks like David Cameron has hung a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on No 10. He promised to tackle tax dodging, but he's just dropped plans to make UK-linked tax havens like the British Virgin Islands end their offshore secrecy.

Poor countries lose out on $170 billion every year because of tax dodgers stashing their cash in tax havens. Please SHARE this and tell the PM to wake up to tax havens at oxf.am/taxhavens

Having escaped terrifying conflict, disaster and poverty, vulnerable families who have been forced to flee are too often being met by hostility, discrimination, abuse and worse. We believe this is totally indefensible – and we won’t stand by while ordinary people suffer. SHARE this to urge politicians meeting at the World Humanitarian Summit to do the same.

Alex and Ethel live in Zambia, where almost 75% of people live in poverty. Life is tough for most people here - but it's even tougher for women, as half of them have experienced violence.

Alex is working with us to change the future for his daughter by taking part in our project to tackle violence against women. He told us: "I want to thank Oxfam for the lessons. There were many myths in the community before, like beating your wife brings you respect." ‪#‎ProudofAid‬

When we met Morgan he was playing at a dump in Nairobi while his mum worked sorting through the rubbish.
Morgan wasn’t at school as his family couldn’t afford to send him. It’s a huge injustice, especially when you consider that Kenya is the fastest growing economy in Africa.
This has to change: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/41470-david-cameron-end-tax-havens

The PM promised tough action on tax. Make some noise if you agree we need real commitments at Anti Corruption Summit
What is “Supporting”? Supporting a Thunderclap campaign is like signing a petition but with the added power of simultaneously sharing a message. You and every other supporter are standing up for an idea with the power of your voice. How to support? How do I support? Choose between your Twitter, ...

Would you pick up the bar bill for someone else who didn't pay?

One year on from our Strength to Survive appeal we’ve been able to help families facing disaster all around the world. DFID - UK Department for International Development matched your donations, so your support made an even bigger difference. In total over £4 million was raised to help people prepare for the worst, survive when it happens, and come back stronger than ever.
