ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS:

1. VITAMIN D3, B12, Iron, Selenium, Calcium in MULTIVITAMINS and Foods (too many benefits to list) โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/eRTix3NkCne

2. IODINE in MULTIVITAMINS (too many benefits to list, especially for people who eat a lot of daily raw cruciferous veggies, soy products and other goitrogen containing fruits-veggies which lower the amount of iodine taken by the thyroid, mainly IQ higher by 5-15 points for kids taking it, pregnant moms avoiding birthing dumb or mentally retarded kids, etc) โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/UWxzFj3FroA

3. OMEGA 3 DHA-EPA from VEGAN ALGAE OIL for best IQ (ULTRA IMPORTANT FOR PREGNANT MOMS and all males, even children under 10 whose brain grows rapidly) โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/T12Gbb3cBXX

4. OMEGA 6 Linoleic acid LA, Gamma-Linoleic acid GLA, and Arachidonic acid ARA are very important, especially for people who eat an ultra low fat diet void of avocados, nuts, oils. Breast milk has more ARA arachidonic acid than DHA, so infant formulas need to have ARA too as explained at https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/SA7F6gJ3cyC - a post about omega 6 fatty acids, mostly ARA - the fatty acid that is present in the brain as much as DHA is (DHA is 93% of all omega 3s in the brain).

5. POTASSIUM (ultra important for normal blood pressure and preventing acidosis and other conditions, some vegans eat a lot of junk foods loaded with sodium eating more sodium than potassium, when for millions of years we ate 10 times more potassium than sodium. If one eats even only raw fruits and veggies it's ultra easy to get 3500 mg of potassium daily and all sodium one needs). โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/421nFxmp7ML

6. ALL OTHER VITAMINS with links to each vitamin (with a post with many studies for each vitamin), PLUS IRON, LUTEIN, LYCOPENE, CHOLINE โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/d7B3mbjyVtF

PS: it is hypothesized to be ideal to avoid overeating unfermented soy products (soymilk, tofu, etc) for reasons explained at https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/4EQT41X5bpR. If you use a rice cooker to make rice, brown rice, barley, rye, wheat, it is best to soak them for reasons explained at https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/2FhsNHoT7fo. Same for nuts, it's better to soak them.

Strawberries lower cholesterol, inflammation, blood glucose, triglycerides, prevent cancer, obesity and improve insulin sensitivity, mental performance and the anti-oxidant status of the blood. They have the most fiber per 100 calories (double the fiber in banana) among common fruits and 13 times more vitamin C than apples, 6 times more flavonoids than apples. Strawberries are sometimes called a brain food, due to the anthocyanidin flavonoids that prevent oxidative stress in the brain, the same neuroprotective compounds in blueberries. They sometimes sell organic strawberries for just a dollar a pound at the dollar stores even or other places. 454 grams or 1 pound of strawberries got 9 grams of fiber, 5 times more than watermelon. :) Strawberries got 235 mg of polyphenols in 100 grams more than most fruits as seen in this table of 100 foods from the free paper European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2010) 64, S112โ€“S120 โ–บ https://www.nature.com/ejcn/journal/v64/n3s/fig_tab/ejcn2010221t1.html#figure-title.

Strawberries prevent cognitive decline, due to anthocyanidin flavonoids that reduce brain inflammation and brain oxidative stress induced neuronal death. Cauliflower, Plum, Kiwi, Watermelon and Strawberry Smoothie. If you don't have the kiwi, it doesn't matter, you can do it without it or some other more common fruit or veggie. It is a great idea for those wanting to go vegan or eat more healthy foods that prevent cognitive decline and oxidative stress. Among the common fruits, strawberries have the most fiber per 100 calories (double the fiber in banana) and 13 times more vitamin C than apples, 6 times more flavonoids than apples. Cauliflower has 87% of vitamin C in oranges, 3.5 times more fiber in 100 calories than banana and whole wheat bread, 10 times more vitamin C than apples too, and much more complete protein than Burger King beef (103 amino acid score vs 69 for burger). Kiwi protein is even more complete with score 105, higher than any fruit with the exception of fatty avocado which many avoid to prevent atherosclerosis. Both kiwi and strawberry got more vitamin C than oranges per 100 grams. Strawberries are sometimes called a brain food, due to the anthocyanidin flavonoids that prevent oxidative stress in the brain. They sometimes sell organic strawberries and kiwi for just a dollar a pound at the dollar stores even or other places. So if you eat 1 pound (454 g) of cauliflower with 1 pound of kiwi in a smoothie and add a little bit of plums, strawberries, watermelon, you will get 14 grams of excellent protein and 25 grams of fiber from cauliflower-kiwi alone, more fiber than the average American eats in a day (15 g fiber). Additionally, the extra amino acids in the plums, strawberries, watermelon can make that 14 grams of protein become super high score, probably 15 grams of protein of score 140, while the other 3-5 grams of protein will be very low score - but still you get all the good fiber in strawberry and plums (another 9 grams of fiber if 1 pound of strawberries), their anti oxidant phytonutrients that prevent brain inflammation, etc. Ideally we need 45 grams of fiber a day. :)

The richest in polyphenols common cheap raw foods are (mg /100 grams of food) cocoa powder 3448, flax seeds 1528, plums 377, sweet cherry 274, strawberries 235, prune 194, black grape 169, red onion 168, apples 136 as seen in this table of 100 foods from the free paper European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2010) 64, S112โ€“S120 โ–บ https://www.nature.com/ejcn/journal/v64/n3s/fig_tab/ejcn2010221t1.html#figure-title. You can of course add a little bit of other things you like such as kale (way easier to eat in a smoothie, as all is sweet and fine ground), which has 155 times more lutein (essential for brain and eyes) than carrots (good for eyes), or flax seeds or etc. I almost always eat a little bit of watermelon since it's the richest source of lycopene, almost double the tomatoes level. In one study, lycopene came across as the strongest antioxidant among the carotenoids. Kale has much more flavonoids than spinach. Polyphenols are in another class of antioxidants (not carotenoids) with other inhibiting actions with respect to advanced glycation end products, free radicals, etc. The more lutein in the brain, the better the cognitive performance, the more lutein in eyes, the better the vision. Spinach has lutein too, but about 3 times less than kale and at the cost of 48 times more oxalic acid (kidney stones), so kale is better from that point of view.

Plum juice has flavonoids and other polyphenols (chlorogenic acid https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorogenic_acid derivatives make up about 90% of polyphenols in plums), while plum dry powder does not have flavonoids, hence eating things raw is important. Plum juice, but not dry powder, prevents cognitive decline. The same was observed for many other fruits and veggies rich in flavonoids and polyphenols. โ–บ Nutrition 25 (2009) 567โ€“573 โ–บ https://naldc.nal.usda.gov/download/29213/PDF. A study found that blood aluminum was up to 3 times higher in those with Alzheimer Disease 0.66 ฮผmol/l or 18 ฮผg/l compared with healthy volunteers 0.21 ฮผmol/l or 5.6 ฮผg/l โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9629676 โ–บ J Inorg Biochem. 1998 Feb 15;69(3):171-6. Since 2000, heart disease deaths dropped 14%, but Alzheimer deaths increased 89%. Could aluminum have contributed to this rise as people ate more processed baked goods, cheese and also became more obese (obesity another risk factor)? Knowing the Alzheimer risk factors and mitigating them seems like an urgency, since what causes Alzheimer causes a lot of non-lethal outcomes like low IQ, and other brain problems. Brain gray-matter aluminum in people who died of a neurologic syndrome of unknown cause was 25 ppm as compared with 2.2 ppm in control subjects. This is about 11 times higher. โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1244532 โ–บ N Engl J Med. 1976 Jan 22;294(4):184-8. Autistic kids had 3.5 times more Aluminum in their hair, 59.2 ppm, compared to healthy kids level of 16.8 ppm. They also had 60% more lead (3.31 vs 2.06 ppm) and 56% more mercury in their hair (0.39 vs 0.25 ppm). โ–บ free full paper โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4609793/ โ–บ Behav Neurol. 2015; 2015: 545674. The same pattern of higher blood and brain concentration of toxic metals such as mercury, cadmium, etc was found in Alzheimer patients and also the more amalgam fillings people got, the more mercury was found in the Alzheimer brains at autopsy โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/DCZWMxHtm6x. Being a vegan but not paying attention to mercury, lead, cadmium, etc and aluminum intake will not protect one from Alzheimer completely, even if vegans were found in one study to have 3 times less risk of Alzheimer compared to meat eaters โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8327020 โ–บ Neuroepidemiology. 1993;12(1):28-36. At the end of the post there are other Alzheimer risk factors and how they relate to veganism, besides aluminum intake.

The most recent report on US life expectancy from the CDC from December 2016 at https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/products/databriefs/db267.htm explains that in 2015 US life expectancy dropped for the first time in 20 years, due to a rapid increase in Alzheimer deaths. Alzheimer deaths increased the most "The rate increased 0.9% for heart disease, 2.7% for chronic lower respiratory diseases, 6.7% for unintentional injuries, 3.0% for stroke, *15.7% for Alzheimerโ€™s disease, 1.9% for diabetes, 1.5% for kidney disease".* Normally, people think we always live longer due to "technological progress". But too many toxic food, cosmetics, medical, dental additives may slow the progress.

ALUMINUM TOXICITY:

Before 1820s, when aluminum mining began, there was hardly any exposure to aluminum. Spring waters, etc have very low aluminum levels compared to many vitamins, pills and some foods. Today however, many foods, vitamins, medicines, make up products, vaccines and cosmetics have aluminum hydroxide or aluminum Lake Colors or many other aluminum compounds.
After reading these studies about what aluminum does (especially in people who don't eliminate it well, including infants and kids), you might have a higher motivation to read the ingredients of your shampoo, creams, sunscreens, lipstick, make up, vitamins, foods and try to stay away from aluminum containing brands. :)

"Aluminum appears to therefore drive ALZHEIMER relevant amyloidogenic pathology directly, by aggregation of Aฮฒ42 peptide monomers into higher order structures that subsequently form into senile plaque cores" โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4155793/ โ–บ Front Neurol. 2014; 5: 167.

The more frequently women shaved their underarm while using aluminum antiperspirants the earlier (sometimes by 20 years) they were diagnosed with breast CANCER โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14639125 โ–บ Eur J Cancer Prev. 2003 Dec;12(6):479-85.

A study found breast area aluminum levels at 268 ฮผg/l in breast CANCER patients, more than double the 131 ฮผg/l concentration in healthy subjects's breasts. โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22099158 โ–บ J Inorg Biochem. 2011 Nov;105(11):1484-8.

A woman with aluminum toxicity symptoms had them disappear right after stopping using underarm antiperspirants with Aluminum (vegan label sticks are usually Aluminum free, paraben free, etc as the container indicates). โ–บ http://www.amjmed.com/article/S0002-9343(04)00617-5/fulltext โ–บ Am J Med. 2004 Dec 15;117(12):956-9.

Those who shave their underarm and then apply Aluminum rich antiperspirants increase their Aluminum concentration 6 times more than those who don't shave. Also, the breast CANCER location in the upper arm quadrant (near where people use antiperspirants) became twice as common in recent years as Aluminum antiperspirants became the norm. There is nothing good biologically Aluminum does, only bad things, why it's even legal to add to any food, vitamin or cosmetic is beyond me. โ–บ https://nutritionfacts.org/video/antiperspirants-and-breast-cancer/. Mercury in fillings is still legal in most countries (except Norway, Sweden, Denmark), so aluminum is going to take even longer than mercury to ban. See the mercury toxic effects at https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/DCZWMxHtm6x.

"Aluminum disrupts biological self-ordering, energy transduction, and signaling systems, thus increasing biosemiotic entropy. Beginning with the biophysics of water, disruption progresses through the macromolecules that are crucial to living processes (DNAs, RNAs, proteoglycans, and proteins). It INJURES CELLS, circuits, and subsystems and can cause catastrophic failures ending in DEATH." โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4202242/ โ–บ J Toxicol. 2014; 2014: 491316.

"Given that the toxicity of aluminum has been widely recognized and that aluminum is not a physiological component in human tissues, reducing the concentration of this metal in ANTIPERSPIRANTS is a matter of urgency." โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24418462 โ–บ J Trace Elem Med Biol. 2014 Apr;28(2):147-50.

Thru retrograde axonal transport (transport via axons of neurons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axoplasmic_transport#Retrograde_transport), even a person who eats only raw fruits and veggies without any aluminum compounds, can get toxic levels of Aluminum in the brain by using cosmetics, shampoos, body lotions, creams, that have aluminum, skin being in contact with neurons and indirectly the brain.

ALUMINUM DETOXIFICATION USING CILANTRO and FOODS HIGH IN SILICIC ACID

Cilantro is used often to get mercury, cadmium, lead out of the body, but it also takes out aluminum to some degree. See more on cilantro studies at https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/DCZWMxHtm6x.

The most common method to remove Aluminum stored in the body is silicic acid [SiOx(OH)4-2x]n (it's present in some mineral waters even https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicic_acid) โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8726215 โ–บ Ann Clin Lab Sci. 1996 May-Jun;26(3):227-33. This method is used in Alzheimer patients with high levels of Aluminum โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16988476 โ–บ J Alzheimers Dis. 2006 Sep;10(1):17-24; discussion 29-31. The full paper is at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Stanislav_Strekopytov/publication/6806911_Non-invasive_therapy_to_reduce_the_body_burden_of_aluminum_in_Alzheimer's_disease/links/09e4150c1c238a2aad000000.pdf.

Silicic acid in potable waters has been associated with lower Alzheimer rates โ–บ free full paper at โ–บ http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/81/4/897.full.pdf โ–บ Am J Clin Nutr 2005;81:897โ€“902. This study also found that those drinking water with Aluminum above 0.1 mg/l had twice the risk of Alzheimer (this 0.1 mg/l is below the present EPA and FDA upper limit of 0.2 mg/l which may be need to be lowered), while those with Alzheimer were 2.7 times more likely to have a low silica intake below 4 mg/day.

Bananas have the most silicon (in the form of silicic acid) of any common fruit and vegetable 5.5 mg Si/100 grams, but only about 2% is absorbed compared to about 50% from mineral waters (which have 0.5 to 2 mg per 100 grams) or green beans (2.5 mg Si/100 grams). However, this doesn't mean this silicic acid cannot remove aluminum - since the amounts in the body are small. Some vegans eat 10-20 bananas daily, meaning a lot of silicic acid. The silicic in the banana would probably prevent the absorption of aluminum from other foods or antacids or pills people might take, even if it is not absorbed - since the study found eating silicon rich foods prevents absorption of aluminum. Green beans may thus be more effective at heart and brain aluminum detoxification, as green bean silicic acid is more absorbable than banana silicic acid. For more on green beans and other high silicic acid foods, see the free paper at โ–บ http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/75/5/887.long โ–บ Am J Clin Nutr. 2002 May;75(5):887-93. The same authors published another paper 7 years later in 2009, also available for free at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2744664/ โ–บ Br J Nutr. 2009 Sep; 102(6): 825โ€“834. โ–บ where they show urine levels of silicon (which are used to measure absorption rates) can be as high as 11% of silicon intake from bananas and as low as 22% from green beans, but the averages are about 10 times higher from green beans, indicating that perhaps bananas have a higher number of monomers in its polymeric form of silicic acid, harder to hydrolyze in the gut and to absorb. The authors also did an amazing Br J Nutr. 2005 Nov;94(5):804-12. study with a list of over 100 common foods and their silicon content which you can read for free at โ–บ https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/aop-cambridge-core/content/view/AFEE32B45AD3798A320732575F6C1D4C/S0007114505002503a.pdf/div-class-title-a-provisional-database-for-the-silicon-content-of-foods-in-the-united-kingdom-div.pdf

COMMON SOURCES OF ALUMINUM EXPOSURE:

The highest levels of aluminum among pills probably come from antacids, as seen at the Center for Disease Control website โ–บ https://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/phs/phs.asp?id=1076&tid=34 โ–บ "Antacids have 300โ€“600 mg aluminum hydroxide (approximately 104โ€“208 mg of aluminum) per tablet, capsule, or 5 milliliter (mL) liquid dose. Buffered aspirin may contain 10โ€“20 mg of aluminum per tablet.
Vaccines may contain small amounts of aluminum compounds, no greater than 0.85 mg/dose." Vaccine absorption can be 133 times higher than antacid or food one (40% versus 0.3 per one study), so the dose is not everything that matters. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11322172, Pharmacol Toxicol. 2001 Apr;88(4):159-67, suggests most vaccine aluminum is absorbed, compared to 0.3% from food, that would mean 300 times more from vaccines. Given the rapid growth of the brain in the first year of life and studies showing neuron death due to aluminum, giving aluminum adjuvant containing vaccines that provide 4 mg of aluminum over a period seems like a real gamble.

Using aluminum foil during cooking or aluminum cooking ware does not seem like a good idea. The abstract of one study states "The amount of leaching of aluminum was found to be high .... the obtained values can be considered to be unacceptable" โ–บ http://www.electrochemsci.org/papers/vol6/6010222.pdf โ–บ Int. J. Electrochem. Sci., 6 (2011) 222 - 230

All carbonated beverages in aluminum cans have acidic pH and this makes aluminum leeching into the can easier over time.

Baking powder, some pancake/waffle mixes and frozen products, and ready-to-eat pancakes provided the most Aluminum of the foods tested; up to 180 mg aluminum/serving โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16019791 โ–บ Aluminum content of some foods and food products in the USA, with aluminum food additives. โ–บ Food Addit Contam. 2005 Mar;22(3):234-44.

Many cake mixes, cheeseburgers, cheese products, baked goods, processed foods (even some of the organic juices and more "healthy drinks, foods and products") have sodium aluminum phosphate (SALP) approved food additive emulsifying agent. For more details see free paper at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2449821/ about this aluminum compound and their research suggesting most aluminum we absorb comes from food not the alum treated tap water. The paper explains that "Basic SALP is permitted by the FDA up to 3% in pasteurized process cheese (21CFR133.169)". This means if you eat 100 grams of cheese you can get a maximum of 3000 milligrams of this aluminum compound (Na15Al3(PO4)8 for example) which would mean 205 mg of aluminum. If they use other variants of this class of compounds, you may get more aluminum. Thankfully, vegans do not eat cheese. The paper explains that "some process cheeses were reported to contain 695 (Gormican, 1970), 411 (Pennington, 1989), 320 (Pennington and Schoen, 1995), 1440 (Greger, 1985), and 470 mg Al/kg (Saiyed and Yokel, 2005)". That's about 32 to 144 mg of Aluminum in 100 grams of cheese, an unbelievably high amount. The article explains as early as 1911 papers came out about the possible dangers of alum baking powder. The article also explains some non-profits asked FDA to remove the GRAS classification for these aluminum compounds. GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) means that FDA doesn't test for safe tolerance levels, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generally_recognized_as_safe. If you eat cheese, it may be better to eat only natural one that was not processed at all. :)

Wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_aluminium_phosphate for sodium aluminum phosphate explains that "The acidic sodium aluminium phosphates are used as acids for baking powders for the chemical leavening of baked goods. Upon heating, sodium aluminum phosphate combines with the baking soda to give carbon dioxide." That's why being vegan won't protect someone from aluminum caused Alzheimer (especially if other risk factors are high and elimination is not good), unless they avoid baked goods that contain this compound (sometimes listed on the bread ingredients, but often times not listed). I never eat bread or baked goods. One interesting thing is that raw vegans noticed sometimes a vast improvement in health or curing of diseases that were present as processed food vegans, maybe they ate too many toxic additives??? Synergistic toxicity.

Other foods and many vitamins and medicines have artificial colors called "lakes" which are Aluminum (sometimes Barium or Calcium) salts of the dyes. There are also lots of other Aluminum containing compounds in foods and cosmetics, besides dyes. If you want to know the dye chemical formulas, see the list of wikipedia entries at http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/food/artificial-food-colors.htm. In the European Union some of these colors are banned, even in their dye form, not the aluminum lake salt form โ–บhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_coloring#Dyes_and_lakes.

Aluminum Lake food coloring, used to heavily coat liquid medicines for children, contains dangerous amounts of aluminum and harmful heavy metals and synthetic petrochemicals in trace amounts that were used in the synthesis process but are "impurities left over". If you add up all the things above, you get a pretty frightening picture where the concentrations of aluminum even in kids can be ultra high in the brain, leading to autism, autoimmune diseases and later on to Alzheimer like diseases. Up to age of 12, without baked goods, antacids and cheese, one can easily get 2 pounds of aluminum lake dyes eaten, which means a good amount of grams of aluminum depending on the dye molar mass. With baked goods and cheese, one can very easily ingest 1-2 pounds of aluminum each decade, far more than from the food dyes. A part of it will remain in organs and brain doing its damage. The evidence is clear that too much aluminum is not good for the brain and body. For some people it may be disastrous due to their biochemistry and other synergistic toxic metals or substances. For example in the presence of mercury, lead becomes far more toxic. Aluminum may become more toxic too in the presence of mercury, etc.

Normally blood aluminum is 0.006 ppm and 0.018 for Alzheimer people in the study mentioned above, but in Alzheimer brains Aluminum reaches 2-10 ppm. Aluminum reaches 35-50 ppm in senile plaques "The concentrations of Al in amyloid fibers in senile plaques located in both the hippocampus and in
the temporal lobe ranged from approximately 35โ€“50 ppm" (page 1581) โ–บ J Inorg Biochem. 2009 Nov;103(11):1579-84. โ–บ full free paper โ–บ http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/documents/barron/Demonstration%20of%20aluminum%20in%20amyloid%20fibers%20in%20the%20cores%20of%20senile%20plaques%20in%20the%20brains%20of%20patients%20with%20Alzheimer%C3%2582%C2%B9s%20disease.pdf. This 35-50 ppm is also mentioned in the free paper at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3056430/ (end of section 3.2). A 10 ppm average brain level only requires about 0.01 grams of aluminum to get into the brain, from the 1000 grams many people eat every decade. This is VERY possible and the numbers would alarm anyone who is aware that an infant gets at least 4 mg aluminum from vaccines and if much of it goes to their brain (body is small versus brain for infants) - you can reach 0.2-1 ppm in theory thru vaccines alone triggering autism, if the kid cannot eliminate it well, which often it cannot because kidneys are not fully functional in 2-5 month old babies. Mercury destroys neurons in vitro at just 0.02 ppm for example and the study above shows 10.8 ppm Aluminum levels kill half of neuroblastoma cells in vitro within 24 hours. Vaccine aluminum is 100-200 times more absorbable than the 7 milligrams they may get from infant formula in 6 months. The numbers above show that the blood level of a metal, much lower than the brain level, never indicates exactly how much aluminum someone has in their brain, a little bit added each day thru capillaries and it builds up.

Aluminum levels over 20 times higher than those of a middle-aged group were found in a brain autopsy study of elderly (Alzheimer) persons, roughly correlating over the age period with densities of senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles... Clinical intervention to lower brain aluminum by chelation has slowed the progression of Alzheimer" โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12214020 โ–บ J Alzheimers Dis. 2001 Dec;3(6):541-549.

At very high aluminum blood concentrations, even if temporary, the blood can coagulate, especially in capillaries of the brain. These blood clots can cause Alzheimer's Disease (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3070802/ โ–บ free paper โ–บ Exp Gerontol. 2011 Apr; 46(4): 225โ€“232.) and can inhibit learning. Interestingly, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3869709/ PLoS One. 2013; 8(12): e82561 found that in rats with aluminum trichloride induced Alzheimer, blood viscosity and beta amyloid plaque were significantly higher. Aluminum also facilitates stress fractures as it displaces Calcium in bones. Most widely used food colors and their damaging actions are listed below. If these colors are in their salt of Aluminum "lake" form, they are even more dangerous:

For FDA website on dyes see https://www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/ColorAdditives/ColorAdditiveInventories/ucm106626.htm

โ€ข Blue #1: Research shows it causes kidney tumors in mice. The FDA website says "The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would like you to be aware of several reports of toxicity, including โ–บโ–บ!!!โ–บ deathโ—„!!!โ—„โ—„, temporally associated with the use of FD&C Blue No. 1" โ–บ https://www.fda.gov/forindustry/coloradditives/coloradditivesinspecificproducts/inmedicaldevices/ucm142395.htm

โ€ข Blue #2: Research shows even higher incidence of tumors, specifically gliomas in male rats (a type of tumor that starts in the brain or spine).

โ€ข Red #2: Toxic to rodents, even at modest levels, and causes tumors of the bladder. Legal in EU, but not in USA.

โ€ข Red #3: FDA recognized it in 1990 as a cause of thyroid cancer in animals based on https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2160137 and other studies and this led to a partial ban. It was banned in cosmetics, but still allowed in food and medicine as the link above explains. Legal in US (there is a partial ban, so Red 40 is mostly used now), but illegal in EU.

โ€ข Red #40: Most popular dye of all. Debilitates the immune-system in mice. Allergic reactions common.

โ€ข Green #3: Causes bladder and testes tumors.

โ€ข Yellow #5: Affects behavior and induces severe hypersensitivity reactions.

โ€ข Yellow #6: Causes adrenal tumors in animals.

I would ban all of these. :) Many want them banned โ–บ http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-urged-to-ban-some-food-dyes/. Who cares about perfect food or vitamin or cosmetic color if you die? Meanwhile, we can just avoid the foods with them.

ALZHEIMER RISK FACTORS (heavy metals, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, low intake of antioxidants to reduce brain inflammation and oxidative stress, etc):

The more mercury, cadmium, aluminum, etc inside the brain, the more risk of Alzheimer or all kinds or brain disorders, etc. For over 50 papers on the effects of mercury on the brain and neurons for example, see โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/DCZWMxHtm6x

The more fat in the diet (common for non-vegans), the higher the Alzheimer rate, the higher the cognitive decline per this Harvard research โ–บ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22605573 - Ann Neurol. 2012 Jul;72(1):124-34. A study found that observed adding 12 mg/day of lutein to the diet, increased verbal fluency scores and people with cognitive decline and dementia have much lower lutein in the brain. Examining centenarians they also found the more lutein in the eye and brain (they are related) - the better the cognitive behavior of centenarians โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23053547 โ–บ Am J Clin Nutr. 2012 Nov;96(5):1161S-5S. The richest sources of lutein are all vegan (kale has 120 times more lutein than the highest non-vegan lutein containing food, spinach, mustard greens, turnip greens, collards, etc) are presented at โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/RPouB6pQp2u. Because vegans eat more anti-oxidants like lutein from fruits and vegetables, they reduce brain inflammation and oxidative stress from heavy metals and other sources and have less Alzheimer as the study above showed.

High cholesterol, diabetes, obesity and hypertension, which are far more common in non-vegans, are 4 major risk factors in developing dementia and Alzheimer. Due to high cholesterol in cheese, sour cream, milk, vegans have lower risk of dementia and Alzheimer than vegetarians. Vegans also have lower blood pressure than any other group due to more fiber and more potassium in their diet, less salt. Vegans also have lowest diabetes and obesity. Saturated fat (meat, dairy, cheese is 50% saturated fat in calories), hydrogenated fat (margarine and certain junk mayonnaise and other foods) and cholesterol can profoundly impair memory and hippocampal morphology. โ–บ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2670571/ - J Alzheimers Dis. 2008 Jun; 14(2): 133โ€“145.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8327020 explains "The matched subjects who ate meat (including poultry and fish) were more than twice as likely to become demented as their vegetarian counterparts and the discrepancy was further widened (to 3 times) when past meat consumption was taken into account." (Neuroepidemiology. 1993;12(1):28-36.)

"Increased intake of vegetables is associated with a lower risk of dementia and slower rates of cognitive decline in older age" โ–บ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22836704 โ–บ J Nutr Health Aging. 2012 Jul;16(7):626-30.

SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO AVOID ALUMINUM OVERLOAD

It's best to buy vegan label products (even RiteAid has a lot of Vegan label cosmetic products), as those are quite often the healthiest with the least or zero toxic chemicals and have the least Aluminum containing brands (they often have "Aluminum free" label) and they often cost about the same, even cheaper if you buy the bigger size containers. You can also - if you have time make your own VEGAN deodorant at home (shea butter is a vegan fat from a tree), to prevent Aluminum etc intake. Vegan products are more into the health food category - found at the health food stores (sometimes at RiteAid too) like Sprouts in Los Angeles. Besides it supports a non-violent compassionate world, where Vegan label is on most products, and you often pay same exact price for Vegan products healthier than stuff at Walmart, Ralph, Target, etc. :) It's good to remember that aluminum containing compounds or ingredients may not have the world aluminum in them. Example: Red 5 Lake could be an aluminum salt of the red 5.

HOME MADE SHAMPOO, DEODORANT, SOAP, SHAVING CREAM, MAKE UP

1. DEODORANT

https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/NNMHZy7EHhE has a 1 min video explaining a recipe for deodorant, many use coconut oil (walmart and other places have it really cheap, a few dollars a pound) and corn starch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6fC6FA2_zA is a 2 min video explaining other recipes for deodorant, many use coconut oil (walmart and other places have it really cheap, a few dollars a pound) and corn starch. If you want a deodorant stick, for same price as Walmart, you can buy something healthier, Vegan labeled from the nearest health food store, and it lasts a long time.

2. SHAMPOO

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_-FJCRgtWY is a 3 min clip on how to make your own vegan shampoo in 30 seconds - 60 mL of liquid castile soap, 1 teaspoon of glycerin vegetable oil and 60 mL of aloe vera gel. This recipe is very expensive if you do it at home, since you can buy the vegan organic shampoo for a much cheaper price than the castile soap which is like 5 times more expensive than the vegan shampoo at health food stores (950 mL for a few dollars). See a 2 min video on how to make your own vegan shampoo using water and rye flour โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/B79s1FcvQ5S.

3. FACE AND BODY CREAM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcf6tUROg58 is 3 min video about Vegan Homemade Face and Body Cream โ–บ 2 tbsp cosmetic aloe vera gel, 1 tsp sesame oil (can use other oils), 1 tsp almond oil, 3 drops lavender essential oil, 3 drops cedar wood essential oil, or whatever oil you like. You can customize it and add other oils, vitamin e oil, rose water, glycerin oil, honey, beeswax, water, coconut oil, etc to give it the right moisture and oily consistence. There are hundreds of recipes on youtube and you can create your own recipe depending on what you have easily available. Some people don't have the patience to store so many oils and things and it's actually often cheaper to buy organic vegan cream, 950 mL for a few dollars.

4. SHAVING CREAM

Some people use aloe vera gel (i think it's sold in health food stores, the juice at least) for which is even used for eating to alleviate stomach problems, for shaving cream, soap, shampoo, facial and body cream. Any shampoo and cosmetic product could be edible, imagine if this would be the global policy. If it's not edible it's TOXIC. Anything on the skin goes into blood stream eventually to some degree , therefore it is ideal that it is EDIBLE. Most cosmetic products contain ingredients we would never want in our bloodstream or mouth. :) You can buy it at a health food store too, for a few dollars, use very little, and it may be cheaper and even better.

5. MAKE UP

For making your own vegan make up from cocoa powder and corn starch see https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/fQ856ogUyPP. They do have Vegan very healthy chemical free make up at health food stores, and those may work far better if you don't have time or success in making a perfect container, etc... There are at least 100 non-edible and quite toxic chemicals (see triclosan and 18 chemicals FDA banned in hand and body washes only so far โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/P8sww3g9Vr5, triethanolamine โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/7MyGNZwRRqH and petrolatum โ–บ https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/94YXvhZzk49 ) that enter the bloodstream via the skin.
