Interspirituality is also about evolving spirituality and changing religions... Holly:  To avoid persecution during the Roman pagan festival of Saturnalis, the early Christians decked their homes with Saturnalia holly. As Christian numbers increased and their customs prevailed, holly lost its pagan association and became a symbol of Christmas.

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2013 Huston Smith Award for Interfaith Education (Lifetime Achievement) given by the Council of Interfaith Communities of the USA. The first recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award are: Rev. Gina Rose Halpern for creating the Chaplaincy Institute of Arts and Interfaith Ministry in Berkeley, California; Rev. Jacob Watson for creating the Chaplaincy Institute of Maine; Father Giles Spoonhour for his work creating and sustaining The New Seminary; and Rev. Dr. Joyce Liechenstein OUnI for her work as an administrator and teacher for over two decades at The New Seminary and One Spirit Interfaith Seminary.
