It was originally an ancient Franciscan convent built in 1304. In the year 1739 two wings of the cloister and part of the convent were redesigned. Later in 1864 the convent was enlarged and transformed to become the Town Hall by redoing the façade in neoclassic style.

The White City of Ostuni, in Puglia, is laid out on three hills and provides extraordinary views over the green countryside. Ostuni is the most typical example of Puglia town architecture, the white terraced houses with their internal courtyards and narrow alleyways clearly indicate the Oriental modelling of Ostuni. http://www.ostunithewhitecity.com

The church of San Vito Martire was rebuilt between 1750 and 1752, after it collapsed during the earthquake of 1743. It is one of the most significant and successful in the Rococò style in Puglia.
The façade has undulating curved decorations that give the visual effect of waves. There are orizontal projecting cornices and wide vertical pilasters. Above the portal is a large balcony with a decorated pediment.

the area of Torre Pozzella, named after the tower. The tower was built between 1565 and 1669 and is called “Pozzella” for the abundant number of pozzi (wells) of spring water in the area. It is also locally called “Torre sgarrata” meaning “fallen tower”. The area is formed of different gorgeous small beaches all covered with beautiful Mediterranean vegetation. It is a wild and untouched coast of enchanting beauty well worth a visit.

The interior has five stone altars of great artistic value and two 'coretti' held by cherubs.
In the seventies, this church became the property of the Comune that deconsacrated it and used it for museo delle Civiltà Preclassiche della Murgia Meridionale. http://www.ostunithewhitecity.com
