It was originally an ancient Franciscan convent built in 1304. In the year 1739 two wings of the cloister and part of the convent were redesigned. Later in 1864 the convent was enlarged and transformed to become the Town Hall by redoing the façade in neoclassic style.

Trulli are traditional whitewashed buldings of Puglia with conical roofs which taper to a point or sphere called "Pinnacolo". The pinnacolo is made of hand carved stone, that may be one of many desings, chosen for symbolism.

This style of contruction is prevalent in all the surrounding countryside where the fields are separeted by dry stone walls.

The White City of Ostuni, in Puglia, is laid out on three hills and provides extraordinary views over the green countryside. Ostuni is the most typical example of Puglia town architecture, the white terraced houses with their internal courtyards and narrow alleyways clearly indicate the Oriental modelling of Ostuni. http://www.ostunithewhitecity.com

The church of San Vito Martire was rebuilt between 1750 and 1752, after it collapsed during the earthquake of 1743. It is one of the most significant and successful in the Rococò style in Puglia.
The façade has undulating curved decorations that give the visual effect of waves. There are orizontal projecting cornices and wide vertical pilasters. Above the portal is a large balcony with a decorated pediment.
