Ossid is a leading manufacturer of tray overwrappers, case scales, weigh price labelers, and horizontal form fill seal systems.  The horizontal thermoform fill and seal systems are used to enhance automated operations.

Horizontal thermoform fill and seal machines are extremely beneficial, compared to other packaging systems.  Benefits include increased output, a decrease in manpower, and a decrease in per-package costs.

Specifically, these machines are faster than horizontal flow wrap systems.  They are also more versatile than vertical packaging equipment.  In general, the horizontal thermoform fill and seal provide packaging-cost savings, ranging from 30 to 70 percent.

The machine’s functions are pneumatically driven and have high compressed-air requirements.  Servo-driven versions, however, consume nearly 80 percent less compressed air per cycle.

It is important to look at the horizontal thermoform fill and seal system from a financial perspective.  Many people limit their outlook, merely looking at the machine itself and material cost.  However, it is crucial to compare the machine to current setup costs in terms of wasted film, packaging material costs, output potential, wear and tear, utilities, compromised efficiencies, factory floor space, maintenance, and depreciation and resale value.

Considering all of the financial aspects of obtaining, maintaining, and running machinery, there are numerous benefits of the horizontal thermoform fill and seal machine.  Many companies sell low-grade systems and rely on aftermarket sales to survive.  Wear and tear costs should be considered.

Don’t merely look at the initial cost of a machine.  Research carefully to understand all of the costs involved and find a machine that best fits your product needs.

Thermo Form Fill Seal Packaging Systems Use Innovative Technology

Recently, Ossid introduced an innovative thermo form fill seal packaging machine, the 8000S.  This machine offers state-of-the-art production for medium to high production environments.  To ensure that customers receive the latest in technology, Ossid created this system.  Ossid is a leading North American designer and manufacturer of packaging equipment solutions for fresh and processed products.

The 8000S is a form fill seal packaging machine that produces a number of diverse package types for maximum flexibility.  As a horizontally-oriented system, the 8000S is capable of producing foil-foil, semi-rigid, rigid, ambient, vacuum, modified atmosphere, and reclosable package types.  Additional benefits of using this unit include rates of up to 20 cycles per minute, cost efficiency, and exceptional performance.

The 8000S offers flexibility to run a wide range of packaging materials to accommodate three and six-inch cores for the dual supply mandrels.  Features include precision, repeatable motion actuation, maximum web width of 20 inches, an index length of 18, maximum hygiene, and much more.

Standard on the thermo form fill seal packaging system includes a dual unwind stand, an automatic edge guide for the bottom web, smooth operation, low operator involvement, an Allen Bradley PLC control system, and HMI features designed to make fast and accurate changeover.

Other form fill seal systems include the 8000MH and the Integrity.  Each machine offers unique features.  The 8000MH is designed in accordance with the AMI sanitary principles and runs at output rates of up to 30 cycles per minute.  The Integrity runs at output rates of up to 15 cycles per minute and is designed with customizable options.

Each thermo form fill seal packaging machine is reliable, precise, and provides efficiency in production rates.
