I had my hip fully replaced at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute by Doctor Stephen Mikulak. Everyone at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute were great and treated me with the utmost care. I was first left in the care of Dolly the Pre-op nurse, who prepped me and got me ready for my surgury. Then the OR nurse Angela took care of me while I was in the operating room. The Anesthesiologist, Dr Smith, was the one who made sure that I was under properly. Dr Smith was a character and made sure that I was comfortable before going in for surgery. After I was out of my surgery, I was then taken care of be the PACU nurse Robyn. Then when I was taken to my room, I was then put into the care of my RN Lisa, who was in charge of taking care of me during the day and Wanda was in charge of me during the night. Both took very good care of me while I was in their care. There were several other nurses who I did not mention, who also took care of me while I was in the hospital. Also the nurse who was in charge of my physical therapy, who got me up and walking hours after my surgery. My stay at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute was great, thanks to all of the nurses and care that took care of me while I was in the hospital.

Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to write such a detailed review! We are thrilled to you hear that you had such a stellar experience with us during what can be a stressful and anxiety producing time. We hope your recovery has been as smooth as your surgical experience. We've passed your words along to the appropriate staff to ensure your team gets the accolades they deserve. Best, Team HOI

We just had our daughter have an operation here for her tennis elbow with Dr Rose. everybody from the front office, through the nurses, post op, anaesthesiologist and doctor were really great. We did the outpatient services so I am not sure if the institute is the same business. We highly recomend the outpatient services section.

The care I got was the best I've ever received in a hospital. The food was incredible, the nurses were so professional yet warm and caring. If I rang my call button, the answer was within a second. Everything was explained thoroughly and patiently, whether it was with regard to inserting a needle, doing a procedure, providing anesthesia, talking about after care, taking medication etc. I ask a lot of questions, and usually, people cut me off or dismiss me early on. That never happened here. I'm amazed at the level of care they are able to provide.
