The Document Control System is the Foundation for an Effective Management System.

Regardless of the industry you serve, document creation, control and updating is one of the most prevalent requirement in businesses today. With many business environments being so fast-paced, the amount of data flowing throughout the organization requires an effective method for managing all of this data. Clause 7.5 Documented information in ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 requires organization to address its requirement in terms of creating, updating and control of documented information including distribution, access and storage as required.

There are various different document types in an organization, and each type of document must be treated differently (e.g., a job description must be handled differently than a work instruction). These document types may consist of separate approvers, managers and workflows. The point of document control is to make the creation of all documents and everything that goes into it an easier process for everyone involved.

United Nations International Day of Older Persons celebrated on 01 October, recognizing and appreciating the achievements and contributions that older people make to society.

ISO standards play a vital role in age-friendly standards that can help solve the challenges posed by ageing societies. One example is ISO 13482, Robots and robotic devices – Safety requirements for personal care robots, which specifies requirements and guidelines for the inherently safe design and use of personal care robots.

Remaining an active member of society, as one grows older requires a safe and enabling environment. ISO 37101, Sustainable development in communities – Management system for sustainable development – Requirements with guidance for use, is designed to help communities make supportive choices for the social inclusion and active participation of all its citizens.

ISO/DIS 45001.2:2017 (commonly referred to as ISO/DIS2 45001), the first global Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management system standard has been published.

ISO 45001 is intended to replace the widely implemented BS OHSAS 18001. It is anticipated that organizations currently certified to BS OHSAS 18001 will need to migrate to ISO 45001 within three years of the new standard’s publication, as BS OHSAS 18001 is likely to be withdrawn.
