ORION Microsystems was founded in 1987.
ORION Microsystems developed system software and firmware (BIOS, ACPI) for rugged mobile computers in civilian, military and aerospace applications.
We worked on half a dozen tablet PCs. Latest were Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) used on business jets, commercial aircraft 737, and even military. Hardware based on Intel chipsets from 440 to core i5/i7. We also designed monitoring apps to check system performance, status & temperatures inside EFB, batteries and charging system.
ORION MIcrosystems is well known for NEC4WIN, an Antenna Simulation software sold on 'internet' since the 90s (FidoNet and Compuserve). Many colleges, universities, thousands of Ham Radio and many antenna design companies in North America and Europe are still using our software. Some picture of our profile are antenna radiation patterns created on NEC4WIN/VM.
We moved our main focus to mobile apps, iPads and iPhones.
iQuakeLite was one of the few hundred apps selected in the iPad Store Grand Opening. It is still free and you can download that from http://bit.ly/iNju1l
