For the last few months, I've been thinking a lot about change and reflecting on what it really takes to move from one reality to another. So here's a little food for thought on when you think your situation is so dire that you're never really going to change your reality.....

First of all, transformation is possible for all us. It doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen. Patience and persistence are both required.

Second, if you're in middle of cluttered living, I'd encourage you to look at it simply as a stage in the process. Lean in to it and learn all you can from it, and then use that knowledge to move to the next stage.

Third, keep in mind you can't expect the change you desire to happen without commitment. You're either activating change or you're not. (Caveat: change is inevitable, so if you're not driving the change process, trust that someone or something else will. Your lack of participation just means you create a void to be filled by another driver,)

And finally, you can't shape shift, without letting go of what was. You can't simultaneously hold the past and embrace the future. (You can remember what was, but if you keep living there, that will forever be your "here and now" - meaning your future will be a perpetual groundhog day.)

Coming at you with something that might seem counter intuitive. Especially if you feel like you've too much to do and not enough time to do it.

People often think that if they stop, even just for a minute, they'll lose ground. But here's the thing, stopping can give you perspective.

When you pause the action you gain an unobstructed look at the situation. You can observe all the stuff you can't see when you're actively engaged in it.

Deliberately pausing allows you to regroup so you can come back with a plan that's more effective and more efficient.

Plus, when you stop, even if you don't change your tactics, you get a chance to recharge so you don't completely drain your energy.

So the next time your feel like you're about to hit wall, know that the smartest thing you can do is stop.

It's time to celebrate the first official day of Summer, and I'm proposing we all make this the Summer of Love. Specifically, love for ourselves.

Here's why I'm proposing this...

First of all, we deserve it. Every single one of us deserves to be loved.

Second, when we treat ourselves love and kindness, we're modeling healthy behavior and that's really a gift to those around us.

Third, when we're overflowing with love, we have more to share with others.

So, what do you need to do this Summer to take exceptional care of yourself? Where and how do you need to love yourself more? What actions do you need to take so you feel full of self respect?

FYI - If you're thinking this is a selfish idea, that's a sign you really need to join in!
