This blueberry buttermilk breakfast cake is so delicious, and so easy to make! Confession time: Is there a chore that you just hate doing? For me, that chore is grocery shopping. I know it’s totally ridiculous, since I’m a food blogger! I had a system worked out that was working fairly well for me, but since we moved a few months ago, I haven’t been ...

Glass Bead Candle Holders - Hello lovely readers! I’m Megan from Homemade Ginger where I blog all about creating lovely things without spending a lot of money. I love creating DIY projects that don’t break the bank and today is no different! I have a confession: I’m obsessed with the dollar store. I literally get giddy when I leave the store with a bag of goodies that I scored for only $1. In fact, I wrote a post all about the top 10 best things to buy at the Dollar Tree. I think one of the...

Pecan Pie Cookies Recipe - Hi there! It’s Kelly from Typically Simple and I have another delicious treat recipe to share with you! Cookies are one of my absolute favorite things to bake. They are also my absolute favorite things to eat. And if we are being honest around here, I might have had a few for breakfast this morning with my coffee. It’s really no secret that I love to eat sweet treats; my parents always joke that they hide the good treats when I’m coming over to their house. One th...

Paint Chip Christmas Cards - My kids are getting to the age where they don’t want to tag along with us on every little errand we run anymore. Or at least, my oldest daughter doesn’t (she’s 6). We’ll be all like, “OK everyone! Go to the bathroom and put your shoes on! We’re going to Home Depot!” (That whole statement pretty much sums up our life… haha) And my 6 year old will look at me, raise her eyebrow, and in a negative tone be like, “Ummm, can I just stay home?” Ha! Do you remember that ...

How to Make Wine Cork Angels - Hello! I’m Megan and I blog over at Homemade Ginger where I post DIY projects, craft tutorials, home decor ideas and more! I’m all about creating lovely things without spending a lot of money. Like most of the world, we got out the Christmas decorations this past weekend. The same thing happens every year. Somehow while the Christmas lights and ornaments are sitting in a box in storage, they break or stop working. Four strands of lights didn’t work this year! ...

Of all the different flavor combinations out there, I think peanut butter and chocolate has to be the very best one. That combination of sweet and salty is pure perfection. The two flavors were just made for each other! It’s not just me, though… my whole family is obsessed with peanut butter and chocolate. My husband has asked for this chocol...

Water Bottle Penguins - Hello! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I have a super easy and fun winter craft for kids to do! This project is definitely a winner for your little ones on a cold and dreary day! I don’t know about where you live, but here in the midwest, the weather has been unpredictable lately. There will be a few glorious days in the 50’s and then an ice storm will hit. This is what happened to us this past weekend. So, not only was school cancelled, but my girls couldn’t pla...

Are you a regular dessert eater, or do you prefer to save sweets for special occasions? For better or worse, my husband and I both like to end the day with a little something sweet. The problem is, we can never decide on something we both like! My husband loves candy and will always choose candy for his treat, while I generally find myself cra...

Peanut Christmas Ornaments - I’m that person who always wears a Santa hat at Christmas. (Ho Ho Ho! I can’t wait for Christmas!!!) I bought myself a Santa hat when I was in high school. My friends and I had a Christmas party together in the school cafeteria, and for whatever dorky reason, we decided to wear Santa hats. We drove out to Walmart (Walmart was fairly new to our little town, so this was an event for us… haha), and we bought beautiful Santa hats… WAY better than the quality of anyt...

Paw Print Salt Dough Ornaments - This post is sponsored by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and The Secret Life of Pets. As always, the opinions are entirely my own.  All three of my children actually sat through an ENTIRE movie on the weekend. Gosh almighty, I swear I’ve been waiting YEARS for this to happen! We sat down together as a family and watched The Secret Life of Pets (You can buy it on Blu-ray & DVD on December 6) and we made it through the entire movie without pausing it ev...
