Here's what I was talking about, I'm experimenting a little with it right now.

Each image shows an optimized shape-key for each main view of the model.

This is just a proof of concept, I think it'll work when properly applied (may end up doing it with a lattice modifier).

+digitani Xu I'm trying to make it work with bones, constraints and drivers.

The basic idea is to lock a bone to look at the active camera all the time and have the value of the shape-keys be dependant on that bone's rotation values.

I'm still not sure how to do that, though I've done some similar stuff in the past for corrective shape-keys  in arms and legs. But that's the idea.

Edge modelling an anime face can get difficult when it comes to maintaining the simplified shape of it while still having an appropriate topology (image 1).

so I made a simpler geometry for the head (image 2) and wrapped the existing topology around it.

The result (image 3) is not final, of course, But I do think it has a better shape for the purpose of anime stylized modelling,
Just wanted to share this with you, guys, have you ever dome something like this?

i defiantly know how that feels....
yeah i did mine, the head was the most annoying part though... especially when u try to connect it to the body, also the mouth can be a bit tricky

Ok, I have some things I'm going to try out here:

- Simplified topology, for a mixed purpose between cell shaded shadows and animation.

- I have a camera position dependent blendshape rig for the face.

I have some more stuff in mind for the materials and texture, but more on that later.

+Vicente Carro it may well end up being a lot of work, but I really want to see if it can be done effectively enough to use in my pipeline.

In the worst of cases it will be a fun experiment.
