the IAU takes waaaaay too long to do their thing. I depend on their naming asteroids and small bodies, of the 50,000 in their backlog they name 20-30 per month >.<
When have more information inflow that we can deal with, even in groups (and it's made worse by the interest level of the average person). It's all part of the coming singularity.
