This was fun to write. It includes rocket science, drugs, orgies, the FBI and an untimely death.

OCCULTIST FATHER OF ROCKETRY 'WRITTEN OUT' OF NASA'S HISTORY

Jack Parsons played a critical role in the formation of rocket science and was instrumental in building the rockets that were eventually used in the Space Race. However, he also believed in magic, was involved in the early stages of Scientology and had an extremely colourful sex life. For that reason, Pendle speculates, Parsons' was a figure who didn't fit into the mould of the Industrial Complex. "Wernher von Braun -- a former Nazi -- was much a much easier fit than Parsons," says Pendle. "A lot of people would be shocked to find out that the space programme was founded by a man who held orgies in his Pasadena mansion."

Dear Lord. Please save us from David Cameron.
David Cameron has claimed divine inspiration was at work when it came to drafting a key concept for Conservative Party policy.

I didn't think The Independent did humor. Surely this can't be accurate. Simply not possible, right?

a little word to the evangelical Christians
this piece of technology is a TOOL (like your car)
if it can help humanity, then i'm all for it
more and more old people want to stay and live at home, and not want to be placed in a home
robots are the means of doing just that

I wrote a thing about awkward moments on Facebook

The ten most awkward rites of passage that Facebook users must experience

Including experiencing stalker app panic, posting someone's name as a status update instead of searching for it and finding the "other messages' folder.

Bracing myself to take on Vodafone in the biennial squabble over my upgrade. Why does it have to be so unpleasant? It's the only time I really even talk to my mobile operator and it's always a complete painus.

Agreed, and it's always pot luck if you get a nice operator who knows all you want is the latest phone for free without any extra contract bells and whistles.

From start to finish, Margo was a pleasure to work with. She is an extremely talented dress designer and was able to turn my unclear description of what I wanted into a gown that felt very "me". She made suggestions that I would never have thought of and introduced details that I didn't realise I would have loved so much - such as the lacework and beading. I first contacted her because it's clear from her website that she can design and make a wide range of very technical designs. While I wanted a loose flowing dress, it is great to see how much experience Margo has at creating more structured styles. The end result was a unique, beautiful dress that I felt comfortable in all day. Thanks, Margo!
