One piece of advice I heard once that really stuck with me is how important business partnerships are. As much as we’d like to think so, we really can not get to the level of success most of us seek without connecting with others. Part of that (connecting with others), is using our respective talents to help others and vice versa.

We all want to be successful, but when we are asked why we feel we are “not”, we easily point the finger outward. What we often don’t do, is think about what we are contributing to our ‘lack of success’. We don’t consider how we are getting in our own way.

While competition isn't always bad, viewing every talented person as a threat to your success will only hinder your ability to grow. Society tells us to step on others as we make our way to the top, I would argue that our views on competition need to evolve and mature.
