First alternate launcher for #Ubuntu touch ( really sad they don't mention at all that this is 90% Ubuntu for phones (they even demo the ubuntu default apps) Canonical would already be the center of a shitstorm for not giving credit if it was the otherway round), great to see others use our work nontheless)
A new #opensource mobile OS is ready for testing

+Harald Sitter +Rohan Garg so in case it actually lands in the archive, any interest in producing a nexus4 image that lands on the system-image server (happy to help with that) ?
so that people could just use system-image-cli --switch to switch back and forth between the two to compare ?Jul 27, 2015

Give it a rest man, this is a non-issueJul 27, 2015
+Michael Hall We've moved the code to KDE's git repos last week. This morning, we discussed how we move it to officially released status. We want to add the repos to the Plasma 5.5 release, which is planned for (roughly) November (release schedule for that needs pinning down, still).
I'm not 100% privy to the requirements for addition to the Ubuntu archives, but I'd like to see that happen rather sooner than later. (I'll check with my colleagues what needs to happen for that and we'll work on it.)Jul 27, 2015
+Oliver Grawert I haven't looked at the sensors, so dunno what exactly needs to happen. I'd probably pick the easiest route and build on your work, no point in duplicating it just because it was NIH.
As to to your suggestion to produce a Nexus 4 image and switch the UI -- sounds awesome, and thanks for the offer to help with that. Support for more devices is pretty high on our list (may just work for other devices that already run Ubuntu touch, such as the BQ Aquarius I have at home, but I haven't gotten around to try it yet, it's all pretty young and the past weeks have been incredibly busy). The sooner we can make this happen and share our efforts, the better.
Good to see collaboration going on this thing, I'm rather excited at the prospects of what we can achieve here.Jul 27, 2015
This sounds awesome!
Easily switching between Unity and plasma, and with apps that will work on both platforms?
Sounds great to me ;-)Jul 27, 2015
+1 for being able to switch between Unity 8 & Plasma Mobile experiences! The good desktop times coming back, but to the phone!Aug 7, 2015
