5 Steps to Content Marketing Success

Great post by +Paddy Moogan via +Moz on the 5 step process that he uses to get to content marketing success.

There are other content marketing process posts out there but we felt that this was pretty in-depth. Even if you don't use the exact process and have your own --  there is something for everyone here.

There are five broad steps in the process:

1) Research and idea generation
2) Idea validation
3) Production
4) Promotion
5) Conversion

Paddy mentions that successful content marketing focuses on these 3 things:

1) The Story
2) The Data
3) The Production

Note: Purposely left out of the list ... the audience. Don't forget that an audience to your competitor may not be the same as an audience to you. Things scale differently.

We loved:

Find your content
You need to realize that there is a "difference between your product/service competitors and your content competitors."

Numerous tools mentioned. Here are two we liked:

EpicBeat -
Find trends, content, and influencers.

Brandtale -
See how big brands are doing native advertising.

Really enjoyed this piece, it has some great takeaways and we only mentioned part one Research and idea generation ... There is a whole lot more!

Hey everyone, here's the latest update on #AndysAces, 88 aces served and over £38,000 raised so far!

A donation of £25 to UNICEF UK can provide health check-ups for 10 Syrian children, and any donation will be matched pound for pound by the UK Government.

A very big weekend coming up, so hopefully there's a few more aces to come!

Thanks for all your support.

5 Tips To Become The Innovator Of Your Industry

Regardless of what type of industry you're in, more than likely, you've already noticed the advancing competition. Although more and more businesses are trying to innovate and expand their customer base, there are things you can do to stand out from the crowd and establish you and your business as an industry leader.

1. Incorporate Innovate Products Into Your Business Plan

Do market research and see what products people are looking for in your industry.
It's important to strive to be a leader in your field rather than to be the one following the crowd. If you're a travel agent, perhaps you can offer personalized services or tours when customers reach their destination. Anything that adds extra value, meets the customers' needs in a unique way, and puts your business ahead of the competition can be an excellent strategy to position your company as a trusted leader in your industry.

Of course, it's not just great, cutting edge products that you need to offer; you also need to be providing your customers with exceptional content that is at the forefront of your industry. As a leader, your innovative content will be the buzz in your industry, setting you up as the expert in your field. If you want to make a difference, your content and products need to be at the cutting edge of what consumers are looking for.
