grey morning

... just a thought: it's a sfumato country, in so many other aspects, besides a canonical painting mode.

Awesome website. The Mondrian fund did a great job. I don't know yet if everything's in there, but for sure it is a lot to see. Like... A LOT. :)

"... In the end, what we have is a conversation, a lifelong dialogue with life. It's a conversation expressed not in words but in the immediacy of experience and the poetry of the one, single now. And that is exactly where the experience of sacredness lives."...
The human experience of sacredness transcends debates about atheism and religion, says astrophysicist Adam Frank. So where does the sacred live and what does it point to?

To me, personally?... the thing is, authors don't die as long as their books are alive and read. It's not a pathetic statement, it's true: I know Gabriel García Márquez only as the world of his characters... and that world is here, in my mind, on my book-shelves, in my heart, - as is it was yesterday.
What is sad, with such passing of a truly great writer, that there won't be a next chapter or a new book to read ...
RIP Gabriel García Márquez, 1927-2014 Gabo the Giant is dead. Long live the Giant.

Yum.

... btw, it reminded me of my mother's fashion magazines and her Italian shoes I ruined: cut their pointy noses off, don't ask me why, I was 4.

ripple effect

... got a message from my son, from Mu Sang Sa... I've found the place on the map and marked it with a big red pin. It's far far away, on the top of the mountain  I will never see, by the name I can't pronounce. Life is one amazing journey. Even if you can't leave the house - your mind and your heart travel for you.

Story
Tagline
Writer. Photographer. Horticulturalist. I love to garden, to read, long walks on the beach, and Amsterdam. I am Russian.
Introduction

I used to be something else (which you still can see on LinkedIn), but now I am a writer.
I write - that's what I do. (In Russian, too, but less typos)
I write essays about landscapes and people. I write books about herbs

I take photos when I run out of words. I write haiku when I run out of juice.

I advise on garden plans and make planting schemes. I like to grow herbs, to watch nature close.I like my garden in the morning and when sun sets down.

I blog about garden design in my Russian journal and guest-write for landscape design magazines.

I like art and culture.

I like airports.

I laugh a lot, and cry sometimes, over a good movie.

I love dark neo surrealism, watch every movie with Russel Crowe, wander virtual art galleries, try to  understand zen, drink red wine or herbal tea, read poetry, travel through Europe on the backseat of Yamaha and listen to any good music that fits my mood.

I live on the coast and love space.

I love my children.

I love my husband, - my true kindred soul and my partner.

I am Russian, born in Latvia, raised in Kazakhstan, studied in the USSR, living in the Netherlands.

More about me, my books, my projects - on my personal website

Great wine shop to find and taste wines, perfectly balanced for price-quality. Example - La Colombette Grenache Rose (French wine) - been ordering it for two years in a row. Excellent wine for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!
