We just had an amazing experience with Anna, our tasting extraordinaire. She was funny, informative and accommodating. The guys at the register and the manager were also equally amazing, sweet and kind. Not a bad thing to say about this place. A very different experience than the one we had at their whiskey distillery up the street. See my review on that place but it was literally one of the WORST experiences we've ever had at a distillery and we run a whiskey blog so eek. If you only have time for one or the other, do the moonshine distillery and that comes from whiskey connoisseurs!

This place is great! They will do a tasting of all their products and have good deals if you are buying more than one type of moonshine. I got a travel cooler with my purchase and the guy they had doing the tasting was great and answered all our stupid questions with a smile and a positive attitude. I will definitely visit again the next time I am in Gatlinburg!

Good wine in the winery section. Enjoyed 9 tastes for $5. Gave us a coupon at the end which gave us a pretty good deal...

Thank God for Ole Smokey Distillery!!! This was the highlight of our trip to Tennessee. We had so much fun!!! CIDNEY WAS AWESOME!!! She explained the history of making whiskey and the differences between the flavored moonshines. Thank you Cidney for being so unbelievably gracious and knowable!!! I cant wait to come back. ~ Dave Whitman

Great selection with a very old country nostalgic feel. Lots of moonshine flavors to sample and buy. Was even more excited to find our local liquor store sells some of their products, though not nearly as many. Really nest to walk around and read about their history and processing. Make it a point to stop and see this place even if you aren't a drinker.

Yes this is a tourist trap. Yes it is crowded. Yes it's kind of expensive, but it's worth it. Located in the back of Moonshine Holler, there's normally a band or someone playing banjo outside on the stage, which has rocking chairs to enjoy if nothing else. The sampling area is almost always packed. You will wait. The trend seems to be line up behind someone and everyone moves forward when they're done and out of the way. There's really no organization, so don't try figuring it out... That's the downfall. But they let you taste every flavor they offer, no purchase necessary, you just need a valid id. The sample sizes are tiny, but I still wouldn't plan on driving right away after leaving this place. You can buy a bottle from the bar tenders, or walk around and get it off the shelf. The gift shop extends next door, where its not so crowded and has lots of novelties. You can see the distillery across the way too if you'd like. It's a great stop with free liquor albeit a wait but totally worth the stop!

You can't go to Gatlinburg without checking this place out. Loads of different flavours of moonshine. Maybe watch yourself on the blue flame! They do tasting with friendly staff. Loads of fun.

We tasted some interesting combinations of moonshine today. Came out a little wobbly and a headache to boot.. but a great time nonetheless.. great place with some good live music..
