Winter tales from our kitchen with much help and fun from our friends. We like to practice what we preach-slow food, fresh food, sustainably grown and gathered directly from our farmers and growers. Home cooked with passion, shared with abandon.

Another frigid day in Stratford has us longing for the long days of summer. Check out Soiled Reputation's website-we use their honey & vegetables in much of our cooking. Antony's art is beautiful as are his passionate talks. Remember to check in with Tina at the Sunday market without whom none of this is likely to happen! http://www.soiledreputation.com

A new tour that we are keeping an eye on is officially billed as The 1st annual Stratford Studio Tour. We know there is so much quality floating around town that this makes a lot of sense. At the moment they are calling for artist participants. No doubt you should check this site out in April for updates.

Savings you ask? We are a bed and breakfast, not a hotel so unlimited high speed wi-fi up averaging 50Mbps perdevice, parking and full home cooked breakfast using local, mostly organic produce are all complimentary. We do not charge the tourist destination fee of about 3% nor any form of resort fee.
Pictured is our Irish Kiss Marmalade with Bushmills Whiskey being prepared for the summer.

We were very happy to take part in this short video recently, #6 of many. As a business celebrating 20 years in Stratford, not to mention being part of this great city it was refreshing to see so many like minded folks in town celebrating life in general here. We've married here, brought up our son in Stratford, done the school and sports events, met many wonderful guests and made friends out of most. Knowing the locals here, buying their wares at market, retail and various service levels has proved a winning combination. No wonder it's also becoming a retirement community on top of the tourist draw. If you look at the videos, you'll notice a town working together, leaving egos at the door and working for the good of all. I could go on but hey, find out for yourself. Come visit Stratford.
