I have both bought and sold many items from O'Gallerie and always found them to be honorable. Like any auction house the item is sold for what a qualified buyer is willing to pay. If a seller wants to set a minimum that they will accept for their items there is no problem to do this. If you are thinking of using an auction house I recommend that you go to a couple of their auctions and see if selling this way is for you. From the previous remarks I can only guess that the unhappy sellers were not familiar with the reality of selling at auction.

If you are requesting that the item/s be mailed, ask for an estimate of shipping first. I had a bit of sticker shock for the cost of mailing a small set. Best to know ahead of time.

Do NOT by any means use this place - a garge sale will bring you more money - so will ebay or craigslist. What use to be considered a reputable place is now the biggest group of scam artists I have ever encountered

We've made several purchases at O' Gallerie and have never been disappointed with them. It's always an adventure to see what merchandise is up for auction and we enjoy going to the auctions in person. I would recommend this auction house to anyone and have already to many friends!

I agree with Marlene and Karinda. First read the fine print and understand all the charges and what you agree to. I took in appraisals but failed to note the minimum I was willing to accept. My items sold for garage sale prices and I am still sick over it. Also know what you are purchasing. I ended up with more than one facisimile and forgery I was the high bidder on, shame on me. Worse, note that even if you are high bidder your item may be broken by prospective bidders handling it or staff after the auction and there is no recourse. I paid a large sum for a rare tea set that I had inspected and when I went to pick it up the spout was broken and I got a blank stare and caveat emptor lecture. I recommend only attorneys bid and put items up for auction. I was there to pick up my stuff only to witness an individual who was the high bidder on what was a perfect condition German antique buffet and they ended up picking up a antique buffet with broken beveled glass panes. It was in perfect condition when I saw it at the preview but was junk by the time it was all over. Caveat emptor.

Do not recommend this auction house to anyone. Very unprofessional and misleading. Sold my pieces for pennies on the dollar after estimating a big price. Be very careful and read the fine print.
