In a survey of nearly 1,300 parents of children ages 5 to 17, researchers found that only half of the parents said they would tell the doctor about temper tantrums that seemed worse than the child's peers', or if the child appeared to be more worried or anxious than usual.
Parents with concerns about their kids' behavior do not always talk about their worries with their child's doctor, but they should, researchers say.

The $15 per hour train is gaining steam. It had already made stops in Seattle and San Francisco before pulling into L.A. Should others follow suit?

Well that's not exactly how it works. Yes! Mc Donalds might raise their prices to offset the increase in wages but that increase in price will be left to be determined by supply vs. demand.

McDonalds will increase its prices so long that the rate of demand remains the same or has increased.

If upon an increase in price McDonalds makes less in profit the increase did not help solve anything.
An increase in price is a good strategy only when it help increase profit while keeping the consumers satisfy.

It won't matter what the meter reader is asking, so long that the pay scale is at the recommended minimum range for that particular state.

The negotiation between the meter reader and the employer is totally up to them and their Union. Unless it is a class action suit that is based on discrimination.

Minimum wage jobs were surpose to have been for unskilled workers. But unfortunately that's not what market activities dictates.

If a country is faced with slow growth, minimum wage jobs will attract skillful workers who must pay their bills on time to stay at float.

In essence, it is the market that determine the overall demand for jobs not the employer. And it is the market that determine at what pay scale the job is done.

We have automation that are designed to replace human labor. Many people who lost their jobs that way have to be retrained to acquire new skills.

You may be hired to do a job that normally would have paid their new hires $25.00 hr but due to an increase in demand for job the employer pay their new hires $ 18.00 hr.

The government has nothing to say in that. This is a negotiation between you and your employer.

However, if the employer chooses to pay you below the required minimum wage government has a say in it. Government also has a say if there's been a class action lawsuit.

There's no trickle down effects because employers are not oblige to pay above the minimum wage. The only reason why they pay you above the minimum wage is because they can't find no one with the same skill that would do a job that pays $35.00 hr for $15.00 hr.

Wage increase does not contribute to inflation. There are different factors that contribute to inflation. You can have market inflation when there's more money chasing very few goods and services.

You can also have price inflation, when a barrel of oil cost $140.00 everything goes up.

Minimum wage increase is somewhat of a fiscal policy implementation. It works very well with a deflationary market.

Back to Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand.

I'm getting restless; my shutter button finger is getting itchy. Everyday demands  are getting in the way of my image making and I haven't been able to get out and shoot for a couple of weeks now. If I could click the heels of my shoes and go somewhere right now it wouldn't be to Kansas, but to this place - Lake Wanaka, New Zealand - and to this tree - this "magnetic" tree that attracts photographers from all over the world. Can you see why?
I took this shot around dawn on a Winter morning last July. It was minus 1 degree centigrade at the time. Just one other photographer beside me to share this awesome sight.

El Matadors View

After a failed attempt at getting a sunset shot due to typical boring southern california skies, I opted to catch a twilight shot from this seacave. Always a good option when the conditions are clear. The fading sunlight lingered with strength, trying it's best to not give way to the night. There was an unusually abrupt transition from bright sunlit sky, to starry filled night during this twilight, and as the waves of low tide lapped at my feet, I enjoyed the reprieve from the hecticity(or hecticness, depends who you ask) of the daily Los Angeles life.

Multiple exposures used to create this image. Dynamic range, focus stack, water detail, night sky details. Tricky one.
