After analyzing data from over 26,000 individuals about their health and dental care, a U.S. study found a correlation between irregular dental care and an increased risk of phenomena. An 86 percent increase in risk was reported for those who didn’t have regular dental checkups, compared to those who saw the dentist at least twice a year.
