A Guide to Chowing Down at the Red Hook Ballfields
Located on a tiny little peninsula on the westside of Brooklyn, Red Hook is an uninterrupted neighborhood rich with artistry and food. Red Hook Lobster Pound and The Good Fork are just two of the buzzy restaurants in the area, but anybody who knows the area will tell you the best eats aren’t in a brick and mortar. They’re down by the ball fields where a collection of food trucks...

5 Up and Coming US Neighborhoods
The conversation of “up and coming” neighborhoods invariably swings back and forth from touting the benefits of an influx of new restaurants to the highlighting the woes of gentrification and its culturally cheapening effects. Regardless of your stance on particular places and their ever-changing waves of community and identity, there’s often a golden hour for neighborhoods—somewhere in between the frequent 911 calls and the $16 hamburgers. Throwbacks, Cocktails & Festivals: Brooklyn’s Best Cinemas
A famously art-centric and creative New York City borough, Brooklyn naturally has plenty of great places to watch a flick. During the summer, for example, outdoor screenings of classic films on big-blow-up screens frequent park lawns in Williamsburg, Clinton Hill and beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Year round, however, there’s an awesome variety of cinemas with an eccentric variety of movies and amenities. Bam Rose Cinema Bam Rose Cinemas, in associ...

I have recently stayed at this hotel. I was not very impressed. The hair dryer was old and did not work in fact it fell apart. The electrical plugs were loose and had to wiggle to get it to work. The phone was dead when I arrived. The bed was uncomfortable and very low to the ground. The room was tiny. The air kept turning off and would be hot when we entered the room. I added a sleep away bed for my daughter and the hotel had the nerve to add 25.00 per day to the room fee plus multiple taxes. Parking don't get me started on the parking. They have NONE. No parking arrangements nothing. The parking place next door 38.00 dollars a day. One time in and one time out. So if you took your care out when you returned you had to pay another parking fee. Go in and out and the fees just added up. I would commend Robert Green. A wonderful employee that went out of his way. I applaud him and think he could do better at a better hotel. They are lucky to have him.

The best hotel in New York for a decent price. I like to book here for when my parents come to town. They always liked their service and says the room is very spacious.

Only 15 minutes into Manhattan? Sign me up! This is the perfect hipster hotel, right down to the organic bedding. Stayed the night with some friends and was shocked that hotels can come with a chalkboard. Needless to say, drunken Pictionary was played. It's right by the F train so the trip home the next day was a breeze.

While I've never stayed in a room here (I live in the neighborhood), I LOVE hanging out in the Misdemeanor Lounge. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. It's so nice to have a quiet place to go to to read (free!) copies of Time Out New York and have a cup of tea. They are also extremely supportive of the arts and all things Brooklyn. I've come to openings for artists whose work they feature on the walls of their lounge and guest rooms. They commissioned local artists to do murals on guest room walls.

This is boutique hotel. Plain and simple. The rooms are trendy and the furniture looks good, but isn't too comfortable. I travel 300 days out of the year, so I know what to expect from a normal hotel and what to expect from a boutique, chic, trendy hotel such as NU. That being said, it's not a bad hotel. They have a FREE continental breakfast and also FREE Wifi. (Username:guest Password: nu8585) I would stay here again. It's definitely not my favorite hotel to stay in, but it's not bad.
