Brooklyn's notorious canal has an even more notorious history. Come learn about Gowanus and its industrial past tonight!

Great location and a great hotel. Stayed here for 4 nights and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast in the mornings. Rooms were nice.

Front end crew is friendly and very helpful in recommending restaurants and shopping nearby. Breakfast area could be picked up better and food replenished in a more timely fashion. Room service was particularly good ( thanks Yolanda ) and Catherine at the front desk is the best. She even remembered us from last year's visit. High room prices aren't competitive with similar hotels we have stayed at.

We had a very nice standard room. Even though it was directly across from the elevator we heard zero noise throughout the night. The staff was super nice. The bartender was great. The breakfast was adequate, coffee was excellent, though food choices were limited. We didn't use the provided bicycles, but it was a nice touch as were yoga mats in the room closet.

I booked two adjoining rooms for my family with three small children. A couple weeks later I got a vague email saying my reservation had changed, though it didn't say from what to what. The price appeared the same so I didn't pay it any mind. When we arrived for my Step-sister's wedding, we were told that we had been changed from a king and double to a queen and double and said we would have to be on different floors. They refused to accommodate us and honor the original reservation and tried to make us pay nearly double the rate we booked to change the reservation back. Only when the wedding planner got on the phone with the hotel desk did they at all do anything. But they then said there were no adjoining rooms so they put us in a "suite." That turned out to be a single room crammed with a Queen bed and bunk beds, and a cot rolled in for my third child. It was crowded, cramped and very uncomfortable. Additionally, nearly every surface was covered with expensive minibar items I had to ensure my children didn't touch. Overall a terrible experience and I would warn others away.

Decent location, safe neighborhood. Not too far from metro. Breakfast was basic but good (and included in price). Hotel was clean but room were basic. Would go again.

Always a great experience when coming to the NU. The staff always go above and beyond from the bellman to the counter staff to the cleaning staff. I love the little touches they have from milk and cookies at night to the free beverage in the morning waiting for you at the door. Thank you again NU for another great trip to San Francisco can't wait to come back.
