Can't help it. This time of year always makes me think about that day I thought I would never see.
The New Orleans Saints listed at #4 of biggest Super Bowl Underdogs.
4. New Orleans Saints: Super Bowl XLIV The New Orleans Saints were a very good football team in 2009 as they finished 13-3 and as the number one seed in the NFC, yet they headed into Sun Life Stadium in Miami and were expected to lose to the offensive powerhouse, the Indianapolis Colts. Got that game recorded on dvr. Watch it from time to time when I need a pick-me-up. Still get teary-eyed when Drew picks up his kid on the podium.

Who here remembers Morten Andersen?
The Danish born Saints kicker from 1982 to 1984 is not only the All-Time Leading Scorer leading scorer for the Saints, but he's also the All-Time leading scorer for Atlanta as well. Not to mention he is still the leading All-Time Scorer in NFL History as well. At one time he owned 2 of the 3 longest field goals in NFL History.
Well if you haven't heard, Morten Andersen is currently a finalist as an inductee into the NFL Hall of Fame.
His list of records and accomplishments are extraordinary. Check out this post I put up on him.
Morten Andersen finished his 25 year NFL career as the All Time Leading scorer in league history. He began as rookie with the Saints in 1982.

NFL Great and former New Orleans Saint Doug Atkins passed away today. he was 85.
Originally a first round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 1953, Atkins  played 2 seasons with the Browns then joined the Chicago Bears for 12 seasons. He spent the final 3 years of his 17 year Hall of Fame Career with New Orleans. His number, #81, has been retired by the Saints.
Named as the #9 All-Time Pass Rusher in NFL History, Atkins played at a time when sacks were not recorded but at 6-foot-8-inches tall, was considered by many to be one of the most intimidating defenders of all time. Named to the All-1960s team, Atkins was named to 8 Pro Bowls in his career.
Here is a short little video I found that worth watching.
