At 35km in length, cutting deep into the lush alpine Sunnmøre Alps, the Hjørundfjord is one of the longest fjords in Norway. Even though the highly popular and visited mountains here are regarded as a national treasure, the fjord is something of a secret, left out of all other tourist routes. Not many cruise ships sail into the majestic Hjørundfjord, but Hurtigruten sails here every year from September 1st to October 30th.

You can also experience this amazing fjord on the following trip: https://www.fjordtravel.no/tour-cruise-norway/unesco-naeroyfjord-and-hjorundfjord/

The Trollfjord is a 2 km long sidearm of the Raftsund between Lofoten Islands and Vesteralen archipelago. The narrow mouth of the Trollfjord is only 100 meters wide, and widens to a maximum width of 800 meters. The steep mountains surrounding the fjord are between 600 and 1100 metres high.
During the summer months the Hurtigruten ships make a detour (depending on the weather situation) into the fjord! This is truly an unforgettable experience!! The entrance is so narrow it looks like it is not possible for such a large ship to enter, and it looks even more impossible to turn the large ship at the end of the fjord. Experience this spectacular Arctic fjord on the following trip:

The cruise with a regular ferry on one of the world’s most famous fjords, Geirangerfjord, takes approx. one hour. Alongside the sheer mountain cliffs and the many waterfalls, you can see evidence of people who have lived and worked here in the form of many abandoned farms and shoreline smallholdings. The local legends are many and the history is there for you to see. Some of the farms were inhabited and operative until the 1950s and 60s.The cruise will ,no doubt, leave a lasting impression.

You can experience the cruise on the following trip:

The dark Arctic winters have their counterpart in one of the most iconic of Norwegian natural phenomena, the Midnight Sun. At midnight the sun will hover low in the sky and cast a magical yellow glow, almost like gold, onto the coastline, mountain landscape, the cities and villages. It may sometimes hide behind a cloud or a tall peak, but it does not set.

If you have only a short amount of time Tromso is a good place to experience this natural phenomenon. Check out our new tour to Tromso and experience yourself a day that never ends.
