How about some good news on Friday!
In speaking about #agediscrimination being faced by many workers in the US and elsewhere around the world, we can become very pessimistic regarding the challenges we will most certainly face as we become aging workers. But some companies are already rolling out programs where older people can be given a chance to show how they too can make the workplace rock! Let's hope more people in #leadership take these type of examples and roll with them in their own companies.

We all know a big shift in the workforce is already here. With baby boomers leaving the workforce, and the lack of skilled professionals to fill those jobs, one could be left feeling really powerless. Moreover, things appear to be getting more difficult in the #recruiting and #peoplemanagement department.
So now that we are done beating the proverbial skilled workforce shortage "dead horse", lets look at a pretty good alternative that can help you and many people who are currently in need of jobs but may not have the skillset.
It's time to bring back apprenticeship programs. You can even get help from the DOL and your local labor department!

So you have been an #hrsolutions rockstar for a nice part of your career, you have the chops to play amongst the biggest wigs in #humanresources out there and you know you would be a great addition to any team. You apply and apply to jobs and nothing. What gives?
While #agediscrimination is a real problem, you can shine a bright light on the benefits of hiring a person who is more than a few years into his/her career. Conversely, if you are a #hiring manager and you can't find the right candidate, you may not be looking in the right employee demographic.
With an ever tightening employee market, we need to leverage each individual's strengths in our organizations. Moreover, turnover amongst younger workers is significantly more common than their older counterparts.
An ofter overlooked hashtag#talentpool of older workers is waiting to contribute their knowledge and work ethic. These people may be the best the answer to your hiring woes.
