I got this blender for Christmas, and I can tell you this: they named it appropriately! It is crazy fast and crazy sharp! Watch your fingers!
Thanks so much for stopping by northshoremama.com. I hope that you will find this site fun and resourceful. Allow me to introduce myself to you…
My name is Kari and I was born and raised right here on the Northshore. I graduated from Covington High School and still live in St. Tammany Parish.
I have been married for almost 8 years to the love of my life, Ross. We have two beautiful and crazy boys, with whom you will grow quite familiar via my tales of their antics and silly statements. Evan is almost 5 and is in Pre-K. Noah is 19 months and stays at home with me for now.
My family has had a couple of rough years, but the silver lining is that through those times of turmoil and frustration, I discovered this new world of free or almost free that I have grown to dearly love. In 2009, we had 7 deaths between my husband’s extended family and my own. We also had Noah that year, so I was out of work quite a bit during the rough pregnancy, bed rest and post-partum period. Then once 2010 rolled around, the family deaths seemed to subside, but were replaced by surgeries. We had a total of 5 in my household before July. My husband had 2 shoulder surgeries and was out of work for a total of 7 months. Thankfully, I was able to return to work part time, but that didn’t quite make ends meet.
My best friend was always telling me of the ridiculous amounts of money that she saved using coupons on her groceries and at places like CVS and Walgreens. I would have NEVER shopped at either of those overpriced drugstores and I couldn’t imagine how she managed the deals that she got. I just assumed that it was a post-Katrina problem (aren’t they all??) that we didn’t get many coupons in our papers as she did in Dallas. But, out of desperation and sheer necessity, I decided to investigate the procedures that she used via the web and on my first big shopping trip to Wal-Mart, I saved about $17 off of just over $100. I was thrilled…..not to mention, completely addicted. I started doing more and more research and broadening my resources on the subject and in no time, was getting the same types of deals that she had bragged about. I shop at CVS and Walgreens almost weekly and get tons of items for next to nothing! Also, I now generally save at least 50% off of each grocery trip.
This website is going to be my megaphone to all moms in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes who want to be able to maximize their savings right here at home. Who doesn’t want or need to save as much money as they can these days? My plan is to bring you the coupon deals and show you how to match them up with each store’s weekly sales to get the most bang for your every buck! I will teach you the tips and tricks to maneuvering each store’s different marketing of their sales. I will also introduce you to various programs and websites where I earn free stuff every day. I have many ideas that I am very excited about bringing to this blog, so if you will join me, we can save lots of money and have lots of fun together. I hope you enjoy what you see and that you will tell all of your friends to join us!
