People tend to have strong feelings about their bathtubs, either they love them or wish they didn’t exist. Maybe this glass tub is the key to compromise? http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-see-through-bathtub-1439387105
Some homeowners are fitting their luxury bathrooms with see-through bathtubs, opening up the space and offering a lighter alternative to carved-stone models

While it’s a bit premature to push aside stainless steel, copper is getting some welcome attention for its warmth and versatility.  https://www.yahoo.com/makers/the-trendy-new-metal-in-c1234727526400054.html

Back-to-school season means back to book bags, jackets, instruments, shoes and entry way clutter. Creating a mudroom space to contain those daily essentials doesn’t take lots of room, and makes getting out the door quicker and less stressful.

Removing a wall can make a world of difference, which was certainly the case for this La Grange family.  See how a new floorplan has made their house a prime location for entertaining family & friends.

The residents in La Grange, Ill., endure hard winters, so the outdoors are cherished when summer rolls around. One local family not only wanted to connect their home better to the outdoors but make it more conducive for hosting during the summer. “The clients expressed needs were to create a ...

Informal dining areas can range from stools at the counter, to breakfast nooks, to a well-placed dining table.  It’s about making the most of your space and finding the right solution for your family.

White is a go-to color for many people when trying to make a small space look bigger, but there may be a color that will do the job even better…http://stylebyemilyhenderson.com/blog/design-mistake-3-painting-a-small-dark-room-white
I like a good, bright white room, sure, but it's not for everyone. It's like how some people can pull off really wild, crazy disheveled, sun-blown hair, and look cool while others look like they just finished the walk of shame, in 1987 - it really depends on all the other styling elements.

Choosing Normandy Remodeling for our kitchen remodel was one of the best decisions we ever made. Terry Tondelli, the designer and Paul Ondorisim, the project manager, proved to be extremely patient, courteous and professional. All of the various craftsmen from plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc. were also very professional and courteous and made sure to keep disruptions to a minimum. We would heartily recommend Normandy to anyone looking to have any remodeling done to their house.

A bit pricy but in the end it was well worth it, you get what you pay for. Our job looked better than we imaged it would. They cleaned up very well at the end of everyday since we also live their while all the work was going on. Also the tile setter, Todd, was very helpful in describing process and benefits of what he was doing underneath the tile to make it last years to come.

We had a wonderful experience working with Normandy Remodeling and architect Vince Weber and building manager Al Lovas several years ago in order to build an addition onto our vintage 1920's tudor-style home. Vince was terrific to work with from the start. He listened closely to what we were looking for in our project in style, scope, and budget. He was very attuned to what we were striving to achieve and introduced exceptional ideas to bring our vision into a reality. Vince is creative, enthusiastic, and reliable. Al was our building manager who kept the whole project moving amazingly smoothly. He was our contact person for every detail of the building project, so there was only one call to be made if and when there was a question. The project moved along so smoothly, that the job was completed one month early! What a great surprise! We think the entire project turned out beautifully. We love our addition and can't imagine life without it! We are so pleased with our experience with Normandy and we highly recommend Vince, Al, and Normandy Remodeling!

Normandy Remodeling recently completed remodelling a kitchen, bath and basement in our home. We were very pleased with the results. It is the second major renovation that Normandy has done for us. Each time we have been particularly impressed with the project planning and design, project management and workmanship that went into our job. There are always things that come up in major remodelling projects. Our job was no exception to this rule but fortunately they were relatively minor. More importantly, Normandy was always ready to promptly address the issue and provide us with a good solution. The peace of mind from knowing that our contractor wasn't going to run away from any problems was a big reason we went back to Normandy for our latest project.

We chose Normandy Remodeling to remodel our kitchen because of their stellar reputation in quality building and outstanding workmanship. We have been enjoying our kitchen for over seven years. Our designer was very knowledgeable in helping us select colors and materials. I have to say that they listened to me and made sure they included everything in the design that was important to me since I was the one that would be doing most of the meal planning and cooking. We are still getting compliments from guests who are seeing our kitchen for the first time. They are taken back by the beauty of the cabinetry, woodworking and the fine workmanship. We also love Normandy because they stand behind their product; if a problem occurs they are there to fix it immediately. We cannot say enough about Normandy Remodeling.

We had our kitchen and bathroom remodeled by Normandy in the fall of 2014. The finished product is fantastic. Designer Liz Reifscneider helped us to successfully plan beautiful color combinations for both the kitchen and bath. She also took into account our budget and design tastes when planning the project. Project Manager Paul Ondersin was very responsive and kept us informed every step of the way during the project. The work was done quickly and efficiently and we couldn't be happier with our newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom. Thanks to Liz and Paul for all of their hard work.

We are extremely pleased with our kitchen remodel. We chose Normandy because they have a reputation for quality and a five-year guarantee---so they are motivated to do things right. Our designer, Stephanie Bryant, did an amazing job guiding us through the process, listening to our ideas and improving on them, bringing her deep knowledge and experience to the project. In choosing products, she was really helpful in offerings pros and cons for our choices. She went above and beyond, in terms of taking the time to make sure we were really happy with the design at every step. Our work was extensive, removing a structural wall, adding steel beams, moving plumbing, etc. Bruce Pettingill, our construction superintendent, was fantastic. He seems to know everything about construction, and is a great problem-solver, always explaining our options, being attentive to our concerns and extremely responsive. For example: one morning we awoke to find a fallen ceiling in a room adjacent to our kitchen (not part of the project but that shared a plumbing wall). We called Bruce at 7 a.m. and he was at our house within the hour, and the plumber came shortly after. It turned to be unrelated to the kitchen remodel, but Bruce diagnosed the problem (upstairs bath issue) and explained our options for repairing it, etc. Normandy repaired the drywall and cleaned up the mess at a very fair price. Overall, we felt that the change orders we did (a handful of necessary changes) were reasonably priced. The workers Normandy uses are polite, friendly, respectful and extremely careful with construction mess, etc. In fact, Bruce actually apologized to me when a tradesman was cranky and complaining about some minor issue. I’ve never run into a situation like that with a remodeling project! Remodeling is stressful and messy by its nature (and we lived in the house while the work was being done) but this was about as smooth a process as one could wish for. And their clean-up crew did an amazing job as well. Another example: we had to have a concrete post hole drilled into our finished basement. They covered everything, pulled back the carpet, built a plastic tent and drilled a hole, which was truly a concrete dust nightmare. But somehow, when construction was complete, they cleaned and put everything back in place. Bruce even found us a guy who could refit the carpet around our new post (and was less expensive than our carpet store). We waited six months after project completion to write this review, just to make sure that the follow-up on issues is as advertised. We’ve had a few very minor, non-time-sensitive issues (a sticking screen door, a cracked outlet cover, etc.) which Bruce has taken care of, and we are confident that if anything pressing came up, he or someone from the company would be here within a reasonable amount of time. Re: cost, Normandy is not the cheapest contractor out there, but in this case, you really get what you pay for. Things are done right the first time. The quality workmanship, quality products, attention to detail, Stephanie and Bruce’s commitment to making us happy and the five-year guarantee made it worth it for us.

We used Normandy to refresh our home in Glen Ellyn in 2012 including a two story addition with a full basement as well as a new kitchen, redo of baths, new windows, new roof, new HVAC,…basically we touched the entire house. The project took just under 6 months. We could not have been more pleased with the job that Normandy did. They were on time and on budget, were very responsive to our needs, had great design ideas, and executed the project very well. This was a major project for them and for us and we would highly recommend Normandy if you are considering a remodeling project…..they get 5* from us.
