They have published their afternoon ski hours as starting at 12.30, so we were ready to ski at 12.30. On the ticket office there is a big sign saying that afternoon skiing doesn't start until 1 and they won't sell tickets until 12.45, so we had to sit around for a half hour doing nothing. The sign says the published this differently. I understand brochures are printed ahead of time, but get a decent warning on your website or honor what you have put out to the world. Not doing so is just disrespectful. The mountain is a great place to learn, but not challenging or big enough to hold anyone's interest that is reasonable experienced.

You have to judge this ski resort on what it is - not compare it to the others that are in the surrounding mountains. The resort is ideal for a beginner or first time skier. Intermediate skiers may enjoy skiing here for half a day but may get a little bored skiing much longer than that and this is definitely not for someone who spends their time in the blacks! This resort really only has two lifts (the third is only a hundred yards from the shortest lift and is rarely open). Lines are non-existent, the staff is helpful and the terrain is open and well groomed. Above all this is the cheapest skiing you are going to find anywhere. Because of the very exposed east facing slope this resort only has good snow through the middle of the normal ski season. If there is a particularly warm spell or you go too early or too late you are going to find dirt and rocks. The great benefits I experienced while teaching my four-year old twins to ski here were that you are literally a few steps from the parking lot to the slopes, there are no lines so little kids don't get bored standing around waiting, the terrain is challenging enough to allow you to grow as a skier, there are fabulous views of the entire valley and the access to the resort itself is right in the valley - you don't have to wind up long canyon roads to get to the resort. If you are visiting the area and are looking for a great first time ski experience without spending a weeks salary to do it this is the perfect place! One last thing, this is a "rustic" resort meaning that it hasn't changed much in the last 30 years. Wrap your brain around that and you are really going to enjoy your experience.

We have upgraded our snowmaking machines and hired more knowledgeable snowmaking staff with the change back to Nordic Valley from Wolf Mountain, We hope to see you this winter on our non-sh*tty snow.

I LOVE WOLF!!! The staff are great, they helped me learned realy fast by detailed instructions, there fast on injuries, one downside is that some of the snow is man made and it has a lot of toxins in it. Its really fun to go down the hills and its all amasing.LOVE IT 20 stars.oh and p.s the rocks are in the forest and not on the hills themselfs the hill themselfs are really smooth.
