Help make it happen by getting a tshirt, art print or other cool festival gear. You can also get a ticket so someone else can attend <3

The one-day festival will bring art, food, music, beer, and all things bikes to transform the car city into a bicycle paradise.

This weekend Ben & I hung out with friends in Silver Lake & Echo Park  to talk about the future and the idea of universal guaranteed income. In about 16.5 hours we came up with this for #KCRWIPP #RadioRace

+michelle weiner interesting. Trying to base my economic assumptions on reality rather than emotion. Seems to me human greed ruins most any system.

Lifelong goal of hearing my voice on WNYC is only achieved AFTER I leave NYC.. Bummer! But hey, at least it's airing nationally :-) Still time to catch it on KCRW!!

In Los Angeles, getting around without a car is a storytelling series people can't get enough of. Also the first time that I've been included in a story that also featured the topic of farts.
“This one starts like all good bus stories – when you gotta leave two hours before wherever the fuck you gotta go in L.A.” The audience, seated around the back patio of Stories Books and Café in Echo Park on Saturday, chuckled knowingly. They were gathered for this month’s edition...

If you hadn't seen rain in 5 years, you'd need a few reminders, too.
With rains from typical winter storms expected Saturday and more El Niño rains on the horizon, bikers can follow these tips when they ride.

My favorite press piece on #LABT  Thanks, LA Times!
If someone had told me six months ago I would be bicycling in the street past Staples Center at the peak of a weekday morning commute, I wouldn’t have believed it. Like many Los Angeles residents, I’m terrified by the idea of being surrounded by cars in city traffic without the protection of a ton or so of steel around me.

What's an Emmy nominee to do about downtown traffic on awards night Monday? Well, one could limo-pool, depart at 2:30 p.m., or use the valet at a nearb...

I love waking up to international press for my projects!
Nona Varnado was terrified of lethal LA drivers, but all that changed when she set up safe routes for group commuting

Introduction

Currently deep into developing LA Bike Trains - a social way of commuting to work by bike

Bragging rights
Nona Varnado clothing and accessories bridge the gap between fashion and real athletic apparel using high-tech and traditional fabrics. Our clothing is made in NYC with attention paid to ecologically responsible production methods. Instead of having one set of “bike clothes” and another set of normal clothes – discover the joy of pants designed for surviving the elements, daily riding and making a gorgeous impression. Jackets that have the details of a technical jacket but the look and feel of a high end fashion garment. Nona Varnado apparel makes commuting by bike to socializing more comfortable, stylish and safe.
