Popped into Nomads for a quick drink. It's a chilled out place with a large outdoor drinking area. Drinks are averagely priced. There's 2 pool tables and a table tennis table you can pay to use.

Interesting experience for a lone 62-yr-old, being amongst all those young people. Had some good conversations.Never thought to bring my togs/bathers which was a pity. People letting their doors bang shut loudly late at night annoyed me. It didn't take much effort to shut them quietly. Put off by the smell of the water in the showers and toilets. Free toast and tea/coffee breakfasts and $3 light evening meals a big bonus. Reception/information/travel booking desk staff were most helpful.

Dear Leah, thank you very much for your review. We are stoked to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and mingling with the younger crowd. Slamming doors and smelly showers/toilets are definitely a downer and we will make sure this is something we focus on more in the future. Thanks again, Nomads Cairns Management

Very nice staff. The beds are good but not the best. Kitchen is very roomy and functional. This is not a party hostel and I liked it.

Cheap hostel but okay enough for a few days. Located a bit out of town but with their shuttle service it's okay. I was here twice, aircon is broken in most rooms and both times bed bugs where killing me. ( based on my experience in 2015 )

Staff here was very helpful and kind. They offer so many accommodations, such as free storage, free breakfast, pool, bus to town, airport pick up, etc! And for such an affordable price. I highly recommend Nomads!

Great chilled out hostel. Nice rooms with lockers. Plugs are in a weird location though. Good bar in the hostel with pool tables.

I enjoyed the atmosphere there, and although it's not close to the city there's a free shuttle bus that takes you there almost every hour. I even got a free lift to the bus terminal the night that I left which was really nice! The room was clean, there was only a weird smell in the toilets and shower room and I think that's because the furniture there is a bit old. As for the rest I can't complain, I enjoyed my stay there!

Apart from being a little rabbit warren like it fits the bill for those wishing to make the mulah go a bit further. Most staff seemed friendly and helpful and location is easily walked to the main town areas. My only critique being is to enquire to backpackers when booking about orientation of rooms in relation to noise from the bar/pool areas that they may appreciate a slightly less boisterous environment, otherwise liked the business, the peoples and locality of Cairns in general

Thanks very much for your feedback. Our bar shuts at midnight which guarantees a good night's sleep for every guest but we surely can accommodate for a room facing the front of the hostel rather than the back. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay and we hope to see you again soon. Thanks Nomads Cairns Management
