Planning to light one up before visiting the local drive-thru taquería? The NHTSA says marijuana use might not increase the risk of an accident after all.

The Food Babe, the misguided “food safety” activist who sees chemicals, chemicals, chemicals everywhere and raises fears about them all, especially the ones that she can’t pronounce. The first time I took any significant notice of her was about a year ago, when…

Fantastic theme song, and the original video loop with the distressed sans-serif text evoked serious business; combined with the simple walkout with the red spotlights made me imagine that the last member of the IRA has arrived and he's here to fuck someone up.

Holy shit! Unfortunate, as I enjoyed shopping at the location near my place as its always quieter than Walmart. Good for me but bad for business.

Ironically the same thing happened to me and Walmart in 2006 (or maybe 2007?) in Korea. Lived down the street from a 24 hour store that was nice and quiet but they couldn't make money and pulled out of the country.

"...there is evolutionary pressure on alternative therapies to achieve near-zero effect. This is why homeopathy is still around: its main method being the administration to patients of small amounts of clean water, it’s uniquely suited to surviving indefinitely in the alternative-therapy biotope. Homeopathic remedies can neither harm nor benefit patients"
(Editor’s note: I was away at Skepticon over the weekend, where I gave a talk entitled 'The Central Dogma of Alternative Medicine'. (When the talk’s up on...
