Best sci-fi film of 2016: Arrival = unique, creative & wonderful mystery all wrapped up in the unconventional storytelling method asking the question: "What is it that really defines your life?" I found the music to be stirring and captivating at times and it provided and seamless connection to the stellar sound design. I loved the writing & cinematography as well. When we're faced with something that is out of the norm and causes us to rethink our reality ... how do we respond? Is it out of fear, panic and chaos or do we seek to understand with hope and a positive curiosity? This film earned a #Cinemascene score of "A" and is on my #bestfilmsof2016 list Wgwg.org: Gardner-Webb Radio

My favorite film of the year is +A Monster Calls. 14 year old #LewisMacDougall gives one of the year's best performances in a film that is compelling & beautiful. #AMonsterCalls explores faith, letting go & the search for healing. The story also provides a valuable lesson for living in a world of chaos. With compelling and beautiful music, wonderful cinematography, and excellent CGI, this flick also has one of the best set designs and sound designs of any film of the year. #cinemascene #WGWGRadio
