Ask anyone whose day regularly includes a hard bike ride, sprints in the pool, a complex problem on the climbing wall, or a progressive powerlifting circuit, and they’ll likely tell you the same: A difficult conversation just doesn’t seem so difficult anymore. A tight deadline not so intimidating. Relationship problems not so problematic. How exercise shapes you, far beyond the gym.

Hope this isn't too soon after New Years to discuss this but . . . Research from the University of Missouri has identified four main drunk personality types. Which are you? 1) The Ernest Hemingway, 2) The Mr. Hyde, 3) The Nutty Professor, or 4) The Mary Poppins
There are certainly different types of drunks. “Sober Dave is boring, you should hang out with Drunk Dave, he's wild!” or “She is usually a sweetheart, but watch out, she's a mean drunk”. Having documented the transition to our drunk alter-egos for 100s of years, we are no strangalers to the concept of ...

Like the Greeks, the Aztecs were interested in how to lead a good life. But unlike Aristotle, they did not start with the human ability to reason. Regardless of where you are on your weight-loss journey, you're likely living with the constant fear of gaining it all back. Your worry is not unfounded: Research suggests men and women on most traditional diets drop 5 to 10 percent of their original weight within the first six months, but less than 5 percent maintain that weight loss over time. Evolution has equipped humans to avoid risks. Play it safe, survive, then reproduce and Bingo! you've won the evolution game. Congratulations. But this risk aversion has its down sides, too. One unfortunate place where we're often hurt by our instincts is in relationships where we stay too long in situations that are clearly bad for us.
