#FiveDayQuest #DayFive

Okay I skipped day so kick me hard.

Moving is a bitch and today comforts make it first world problem. I mean we were not in covered wagons nor did we have to drag our teepee like the Plains Native North Americans.

Also note the previous four day's photos did not include a narrative in part because the photos were straight forward.

Lastly I was not invited nor did I tag someone to do participate in this endeavor.

However, in hindsight I will tag/invite and I look forward to their contributions of five consecutive days of photos of what passes for normal. (see the hash tags above)

On the passing of Gabriel Garcia Marquez

I first read One Hundred Years of Solitude  when I was twelve. It was a gift from my older sister who had moved to New York City. At that age I generally read science fiction and fantasy. Knowing this, my sister thought I'd enjoy Solitude. Her instincts were right. To be taken away to a place so exotic and remote -- both in place and in time. Also to be confounded by what would later be termed #MagicalRealism .  It was completely unlike anything I'd ever read,  a hybrid of serious literature and modern mythology.

Marquez and other great novelists showed me at an early age how completely books could transport us -- enabling us to wear other lives and experience powerful longings for worlds that should exist, even if they don't. For that I owe Marquez a debt of gratitude.

They are obviously putting PAX-23H in the air in Florida creating Revers!

That explains it.

Ok, fair enough if you're driving a bondo-mobile. But all those things together are mighty suspicious.

Introduction
Happy Dad and happy husband.

Chelsea FC fan.  Go Blues!

Home PC is a laptop running Mint 16/Petr with VMware workstation with the other flavors of Linux and Windows as VMs.

IT geek.  I enjoy environment monitoring and software deployment and miscellaneous scripting that automates the day-to-day.  HPUX is my least favorite flavor UNIX.

I enjoy most cuisines and food except brussel sprouts. Also willing to try - except brussel sprouts ever again and maybe bugs.

I am a news junkie.

I often get whirl-pooled into Wikipedia.

I enjoy traveling.

The first law of perception is, you see what you want to see.  Your eyes do the seeing, but it is your mind that decides what you focus on.  In other words, you see what your mind is looking for.  In effect, you never see the world; you see your thoughts."  -Robert Holden
