We want to thank every dispatcher out there for all your hard work.
A dispatcher is generally the first point of contact, the true first responder, and the unseen hero. A dispatcher’s job is a complicated one. It is exciting, rewarding, fulfilling, and becomes a way of life. It is also stressful, exhausting, thankless, and forgotten by so many.

Despite the negative rhetoric portraying Law Enforcement, they still keep all the good they do to themselves. Every department has many Law Enforcement professionals who give back to the community they serve quietly. "The thing is this type of selflessness goes on all the time in police work and it is certainly not unique to Salinas PD, it happens all over the country. It is not being done for the benefit of the camera, quite the contrary, the officers don’t seek attention at all. They do it because they care and it is virtuous to keep quiet about it."
